The polydrugging that James mentions is SO very common in this city! I happen to live in the same city he mentions and have been ruined by years of polyphparming. The GP's and psychiatrists in this city are all about writing prescriptions for multiple psych meds at the same time and when the patient complains of side effects, they say it's psychosomatic. I've seen numerous doctors trying to get help to taper the meds. and nobody believes me that it can be THIS bad. I am debilitated and homebound because of the w/d sxs. These meds have ruined me and my family life!

@@SimeonKirilovXI didn't even know about PSSD until recently. It's not right what they did if they didn't explain possible side effects. I started on meds when I was 23 and I'm still on them at 50. I suffer from ED and and it's not fair to my wife. How did you you manage getting through SSRI or other med withdrawals? I'm on valium, Zoloft and imipramine. I took trazadone and a variety of others through the years. Have you checked your testosterone levels and or tried testosterone injections?

We learned not to trust medical professionals due to the astounding effect of having our bodies in ketosis. They know nothing of how food effects the human body. My sister has been able to get rid of IBS, migraines, and lessen the effects of hereditary copro porphyria just by not eating seed oils, sugar and 20g or less of carbs that come from veggies. She eats more meat. Please consider this diet.

Finally- a smart person in here! Thank you for your comment. I have done this approach after healing a brain injury and it works! I learned the brain needs healthy fats- so I ate mostly that. BMI is a low 21. I am old and yesterday I ran 11.5 mph at the gym which is pretty fast! My goal is 12 mph. A HUGE factor, having studied this topic now for years is to avoid, yes sugar and seed oils and fruit, but also anything that will create inflammation/inflamm"aging." Are there any good books that you can recommend? I liked Young Foever- Dr. Hyman. Metabolical- Lustig, MD was great too. He talks about the Flexner Report. It basically states that they are doing this to us on purpose. They are to follow a treatment only model- never prevention in order to make more money. They admit it! Doctors can lose licenses if they try to actually help. Functional Docs like Hyman are great but not covered by insurance.

What annoys me is the government is in such objection to pain killers and Real sleeping pills but these meds can cause a cyclone of side effects and they feel no need to have a heavier hand of prescribing psych meds. I was once prescribed trazadone and it made me feel like I was completely going crazy and manic and Zoloft made me completely spaced out. These meds can cause serious side effects and coming of too quickly can be life threatening. Which they should tell everyone up front.

But they flatter themselves by ramping up your rate of discontinuation when you need them at the time when they need to take stock of your entire medical profile when it is being impactful. It's easier to blame the medicine and double down on a rate of reduction, to the clear detriment of the patient, to which they turn a blind eye, as not to "be wrong".

People need to learn how to manage their stress and emotions without drugs. Note that I'm not criticizing this man. In fact, he says repeatedly that he had always tried to avoid pharmaceuticals before getting involved with the antidepressants etc. But please, people: realize that the pharmaceutical companies want people to be chronically sick and chronically medicated. Awesome intelligent conversation! Touched on so many life issues there, as well as medication ones... both shared a lot of wisdom, beyond some of the weird side effects of trazadone (I experienced some pretty bizarre respiratory depression in the night on that one - like you awake in the middle of the night and have to tell yourself to breathe again - got off that and the symptom/side effect went away luckily... other stuff, but not that).

I went through that and also they put me on seraquil before I knew it was an antipsychotics and had an allergic reaction where my nose clogged up couldn't breath. I went off of it all but many years later I was watching a near death experience video and the woman had the same reaction to seraquil and died from respiratory depression; she came back but I was not surprised and I did tell my doctor of my concerns but he brushed it off.l so I just stopped taking it and these drugs also cause dry mouth which causes tooth decay.

wow@@SunnyCarnivore ... crazy isn't it!... plus I got the same issue re the dry mouth, likely mostly due to sleeping tablets which over time has semi-ruined my teeth as insufficient saliva to help keep your mouth healthy. the dry mouth consequences are rarely touched on by doctors/psychs. It's catch22 though because without a sleeping medication, the brain just stays in the on position no matter how exhausted I might be can go several days at a time without any sleep - maybe 2 or 3 hours every third day and nil sleep in between, which is shocking for your health, and a frustrating torture, so have to choose lesser of 2 evils and wishing you never had to start on meds. in the first place!

(I have always had light sensitivity since I was a young child, my night vision is excellent) Then I went off it because it stopped working for sleep. And I work up with intense paralyzing anxiety. I would just wait for it to crescendo and I could get out of bed. So I went off it. 2 years after my had my eyes check my prescription went right back to what it was before Trazodone.

This is the second video I have watched on Dr. Witt-Doerring's channel. I deeply appreciate the focus on the overuse -- one might say indiscriminate use -- of psychotropic medications. As I commented on the first video I watched, I am a nurse of 25+ years experience, all of it in the hospital setting. I, too, have developed a deep distrust of "medicine" and the overly heavy reliance on pharmaceuticals as the first line of treatment, instead of a more holistic, natural, life-style appoach to health. He is correct when he detours into medications for chronic conditions! This problem is definitely NOT limited to the psychotropic class. I have watched the medication burden presented by the patients grow through the years, reaching almost exponential growth after the advent of direct-to-consumer advertising in the '80s. Not only do the medications create a cyclone of side effects (which are then treated with more pills) it drains the economic resources of individuals, communities, and government programs. After the debacle of that was the plandemic, and the hasty rollout and MANDATE of "vaccines" that have proven to be anything but "safe and effective", my job presents me with a moral dilemma every time I clock in. Am I complicit in the problem? Should I leave the profession? For now, my dedication to serving suffering people (the reason I became a nurse) continues to overcome the distress I feel when I see people taking cocktails of 5, or 10, some up to 20 medications a day, and know in my heart that all those drugs are creating additional issues, and even injury. What is really distressing is that I am seeing this in younger and younger patients: 35 to 50 year olds. I didn't usually see this kind of polypharmacy until the patient demographic was in the upper 60s and beyond. We simply have to find a better way to treat people. I hope this doctor's concern spreads!

Much of the way we think about and get sucked into these situations is often indoctrinated into us in our early years? We get told to respect and listen to " authority" figures, they are "always right" and the " experts" Many of us take that into the doctors office with us and it takes over. What a high price to pay for not questioning more. I think what this also shows me is how many psychopaths/ sociopaths there are in the medical industry, because theres no way an normal person could wake everyday, dish these scripts out, know what they re doing to their patients and then continue to gaslight them. There is absolutely no way these doctors dont know these side effects. They even come out with the same gaslighting jargon as each other as if off a script....must be coincidental.🥴 Note: although the speaker here suggests t.m.s and lion mane, there have been others, some who have spoke, who have also been badly affected by these. There's a Reddit group of 5,000 people who have alleged terrible injury and side effects, similiar to the ones here, from Lions Mane. Please research alternatives, even in times of desperation as many of these could also make you worse.

You are so spot on with the listening to authority figures and indoctrination. It starts with the white cupboard with a red cross and called the medicine cabinet, while anything illegal is called drugs. Medicines are beneficial.drugs are really bad and you go to prison. Unless it suits them of course because they are making billions like cigarettes & alcohol. The double standards in society where the 💲rules is astounding. A lot is learnt from ordinary people sharing their bad experiences on social media, but they are working on shutting that down as we speak. Misinformation & disinformation they call it,and they will put a stop to it eventually. They can't afford to let the masses obtain the truth and share it. That's why doctors get so irritated when you say you googled it. It undermines their profession.

But that trazodone is so strong it completely work if you have withdrawals but I feel bad for you man I'm sorry that sucks not knowing the problem is so tough stay strong man good luck. Arbor medical issue right now and the doctors don't know what it is and they just say it's me lol

This is my experience as well!!! I’m having a detaching retina after using trazadone and Effexor. The withdrawal from Effexor that I stopped after year and a half taper in December has been an utter hell atm. Lowering my dose of trazadone now but get such horrible pain and cramps everywhere rn😔 I feel crazy getting off of these but feel like I HAVE to to save my eyesight😓😮‍💨🙏

I think that a lot of what you are also seeing in these rapid withdrawal injury instances is a basis for Dysautonomia and B1 deficiency that will benefit from the contemporary dosing for its therapeutic value along with low doses of DHEA and NAD+ and related supplements in the case of NAD+.

I've taken trazadone for the last 3 nights...have lifelong horrific insomnia, depression, anxiety, ADHD etc. and always been 100% against taking any medications. I'm at the end of my rope having tried every natural remedy supposedly without much success. I'm feeling much better on trazadone in all ways, actually have motivation for the first time in my life. However I did notice 'visual snow' and some tinnutis. I'm really scared of potential longterm side effects. I have no idea what to do. So fed up.

My doctor wants to put me on a statin. From all I've read on the subject, I say no. I'll fill it, lest I be called non complient. From there, I'll think about it for awhile. Whenever I speak of an issue, I get rewarded with a prescription of an SSRI or some other goodie. I guess I shouldn't talk about issue. I read on my care summary that I was depressed. That ticked me off. I read a lot of things!!! Do doctors write these things to justify my level of care to Medicare ?? I delay going to the doctor and delay going to the referrals they send me to. I don't want to be poked any prodded any more than absolutely necessary.

I had visual impairment tapering off of Ativan. A yellow sphere covered my vision field for a couple of months. My optometrist said that my retina was lifting…one day it just disappeared leaving small black dots where the large yellow one had been…it then happened in the other eye about a month later…same exact thing. The black spots have faded over time. My retina has returned to normal. Strange…

The key word in the title of this video is "Rare". Many people find trazodone helpful when used AS NEEDED for sleep. Who would trust daily use of an anti-psychotic med for sleep? Trazodone is used off-label for insomnia and most doctors will tell you that constant daily use can have adverse effects.

I was finding it progressively harder to sleep through the night. Would be constantly woken by my husband snoring or making disturbing random noises (he seems to have a stage where he is dreaming and any emotion gets released as he doesn’t express much emotion during the day); or my children or my cats. I would feel enraged knowing how continually tired I would be the next day. Started taking zopiclone nightly. Not perfect but it has kept me sane. Tried starting an SSRI recently as well and found it made me feel very groggy and also just wanting to eat carbs all day long. So will have stay off that and manage emotions in other ways.

I read a question once on a patient forum from a woman that had increased her Citalopram from 20mg - 30mg because she had got a dog. What doctor increases a patients dosage of a powerful mind altering drug because they got a dog. Just shows the attitude of doctors towards these drugs like they think they're prescribing some OTC antihistamine or painkiller. They have no clue of the possible consequences of taking these drugs and should be completely restricted from giving them out like candy. That's why I applaud the recent letter sent to the British government by a body of doctors and others to restrict the future use of these drugs.

I don't know, maybe with depression and anxiety. But Bipolar Disorders a little bit of de-stigmatized, But hard drug addiction, BPD and schizophrenia huge stigma. BLD and schizophrenia are highly stigmatized in the general public but also WITHIN the medical community. Which I have experienced personally. I have schizophrenia and my father worked in psychiatrics at Seven Oaks Hospital in the psychward and by the end of his career was a departmenthead, treated me with verbal and physical abuse as a teen and at 54 still treats me like I can't be believed or trusted or fully aware of the world around me. And no, I don't think that about the medical community because of him. He's has his own denial. It was from trusting the system and being a compliant patient in my mid teens and early 20s and being treated very badly.

Oh. Crap! I still take Trazodone but rarely like if I haven't slept in days because my stupid doctor prescribes for it for insomnia. ( same doctor that put me in protracted withdrawals) but I lost my vision once with a combination of Trazodone & SSRI'S a long time a ago when they were giving everyone SSRI'S. They removed the SSRI, Paxil, which I never wanted in the 1st place which gave me restlessness & anxiety too, and within 3 days I felt better and my vision was restored luckily. Trazodone was never very helpful for my insomnia anyway. Ambien helped but I was only prescribed that short term. Eventually, natural remedies helped me but not during protracted withdrawals but sometimes pot helps in combination with natural remedies.
