Connected up with big pharma & politicians, a way to dispose of many. How sad when you are a youbg resident, wanting to help people and all you will be doing is writing scripts, attacing more meds, treating some like they are lying to you, some like they are already forensic patients, so in 2 to 5 years, their own family goes through what the patient is going through. Cruel & unusual punishment vs. Talking problems out, after gettibg the patient calmed down in their thoughts.

Very, very, very true, seeing a patient for 5 minutes, scripted them, out the door. If you need an override, a med that could help you be more functional, they treat the patient like they do not have a clue what you are requesting ir tell you, we cannot do that here, which is a lie! So many want to get well, but are taught, not to advocate for themselves or to get a psychologist to talk with to come uo with solutions!

My new psychiatrist argued me down and told me I was a liar and said I didn’t know what I was talking about because I’m not a doctor yesterday when I told her I was experiencing benzo withdrawal/protracted withdrawal 23 months later from being taken off klonopin in a matter of 5 days. She wagged her finger at me and rolled her neck saying I could come off klonopin and be fine in ONE day as long as I was supervised by a doctor and a team of nurses. I asked her then why am I still experiencing this 23 months later. She couldn’t answer me. I told her about the Ashton Manual. She played stupid. I’m so sick of these stupid doctors who don’t know ish about benzos, but claim they know everything just because they’re doctors.

Do not trust doctors! My doctor put me on clonazepam for anxiety 4 years ago and then he retired and was replaced by a nurse practitioner who took me off clonazepam cold turkey no tapering off. I am 73 years old with high blood pressure and anxiety. I told her I would not be able to survive the withdrawals and it did not matter to her at all I will probably be dead soon. My doctor never told me it was addictive or that I would have withdrawals if I stopped. What happened to the saying do no harm? Please do not let any doctor prescribe benzos to you trust me it is not worth it.

Then you'll hate the drug and still need it-stopping is torture. It’s not a cure, but intermittent fasting and drastically improving my diet (including reducing sugar intake to almost zero) really helped get me through. It didn’t take the withdrawal away completely, but it helped calm my nervous system and digestive system. It also made me stronger so I wouldn’t be so physically devastated after a wave. It’s one thing to drug us openly, but we are drugged through food and we don’t even think twice.

its so crazy to me that any doctor would rapidly take someone off of a medication that is well known to cause sometimes fatal withdrawal symptoms, then they act like they don't know whats happening even though the information is a quick google search away. even if you survive, suddenly quitting causes brain damage via excitotoxicity and i don't know how fast things go back to normal once that happens, or if they go back to normal at all. both outcomes could be prevented by tapering, or letting the patient stay on it if they really want to

Doctors, like everyone else, have lives outside of work. “After work” they drive and pick up kids from activities, oversee homework, baths, etc. They go grocery shopping and prepare meals for the family and pets. Laundry. Housework. Yard work. Maybe they volunteer for their local shelter. Or political organization. They only have 24 hours like everyone else.

My son has been through so many drugs, it is insane, making him feel like he is the problem, all the time! At Nami, the parent group, we were told to call police & have him Baker Acted, so in one year, 40 times in one year, jail, that is, etc. Up , down medz of all kinds. It is a wonder he has a mind left! How insane is this! Tapered with him, because they were hurting him & not helping him. It was hard to watch these torcherous years! Yep, it’s quick taper withdrawal akathisia (subjective). Akathisia occurs in the pre-frontal cortex, with high dopamine, from d2 blockade. Take the benzo off, the dopamine shoots up even more. Causing havoc with an uprising of negative emotions, anxiety/depression. Agoraphobia. Activates the limbic center, (amygdala), cause functional neurological symptoms. As the dopamine begins to level out, anxiety/depression go down. Positive memories resurface, traumatic ones begin to resolve. Eases back off the limbic center, the symptoms begin to go away. Agoraphobia begins to wither away. Takes time.

One must carefully vet all new doctors before allowing them to work with you. There are a very few major academic medical centers that can usually be trusted. But almost none of the local docs and hospitals have the knowledge, expertise, or qualifications to know much of anything. Bi know more than most of them. As for meds, you must have one doc managing all of your medications.

I have stage 4 chronic kidney disease from the nonopioid meds doctors prescribed me. many people have brain damage from Gabapentin or Pregabalin. kidney damage from NSAIDs , suicide from untreated pain. spine damage and arachnoiditis from steroid injections into the spinal canal.

I've been taking klonopin for 20 years too, tried many medications and nothing, recently I was put on gabapentine but I had to quit due to the dizziness etc, then I tried amitriptiline which helped me sleep but I started feeling weird, dizzy etc I feel like my life is ruined

I have chronic akathisia, dystonia, TD, extreme tinnitus, and all kinds of other tardive neurological madness. I nearly died every day my first 2 years off. It’s gotten better cognitively, but neurologically has been another story. Just don’t think you are “the only one” or you are somehow different. It’s true, we are all different. This is brain injury, but that has to do with how you heal, not what you have.

I was prescribed Klonopin for 25 years by the VA. Then I was tapered off too quickly and I didn't sleep for 2 months. Over the ensuing 4 months I could get 2 or 3 hours a night, 4 if I was lucky. I was irritable, depressed, and came to understand why Michael Jackson was using anything and everything to get sleep. Because I was so sleep deprived, injuring myself, unable to drive or do much of anything, my doctor put me on Lunesta for sleep. I took it because I was desperate, but now I am addicted to that and was told when they stop it I can have withdrawal symptoms including *insomnia*. 😳😱

The physical pain was bad but nothing in comparison to the mental torture for me. I'm still having issues after stopping could turkey began on Dec 26 2019. Within 5 days i was in a near vegetative state, yet had severe anxiety, hallucinations nerve pain throughout the whole body and especially in my feet which still has tingling today. I was experiencing a complete reset of my brain and was very conscious of the digestive system going through its various processes. The doctors at the clinic did absolutely nothing. 30 days there then on March 13th 2020 went into the psych ward for 17 days partial hospital for 2 weeks I could not function, they put me on cymbalta it felt like I was in a constant fog I could not hardly walk etc, brain zaps insomnia sometimes go for a few hours of sleep a whole week I thought I was going insane.

My most recent happening with lorazepam 2 mg & 20 mg olanzapam: my son's tongue is swollen, so he decides to get off of ALL his medication, due to his tongue swelling & I am very very concerned for him. I was rapidly taken off in 5 days because my doctor okayed me to be taken off because she wouldn’t take me off. My brain for the past 22 months feels like it’s swollen, pulsating, pressure and this is how I feel non stop 24/7 all day long. My eyes are severely dry and I stand a chance of losing my sight. My neurologist says it’s IIH but I’ve told them countless times this all began the very next day after I left a detox center sent to by my doctor. I’m asking my neurologist for a referral to Duke hospital here in NC.

This is what terrifies me. I’ve been on 1mg of clonazapam for severe rls/ and after having a seizure after multiple drugs failed to work. I’ve had great relief and better quality of life. But the idea of a doctor change and being tapered to fast and having to go through withdrawal on top of the rls getting worse or another seizure scares me. I’ve got late stage Lyme disease too.

They tried a slow taper for me, and when I finally hit the zero point, I got really ill, and it kept getting worse. After ten days, I started having seizures. I went to the ER and I knew I had benzodiazapam withdrawal syndrome, but the doctor was like, 'I'm not giving him benzo's' Which infuriated me. They put me on it to begin with, and then expect me to perform my regular life duties while going through withdrawal? It's possible it could have killed me if I didn't get my family doctor on board with resuming clonazepam.

One of my GPs absolutely refuses to prescribe them. My other doctor prescribes them. I have had no trouble using them and weaning off over the last 4 decades. But, the longest I have ever been on one was 9 mths, Klonopin. I weaned off in 4 weeks without a problem. I refuse Xanax and Ativan .. poison.

My daughter has EDS and Mthfr gene mutations. She has started taking methyl folate, methylcobalimine b12, and P5P. It has helped her tremendously. Some research has suggested Methyl folate might actually cause collagen to rebuild. ❤️

Cymbalta was my nightmare too. I went through what this poor woman has. Although, still disabled, kratom has greatly helped. Mother nature always has an answer. Too bad, Big Pharma has done their best to hide them all. Nature is the answer.

That's what I was wondering. I didn't hear her mention problems while on it, but that the Dr didn't want to prescribe it. I'm not saying a pro or con to being on it. It's also not mentioned other meds she was on. I do know that it's very dangerous to take opiates and benzos together, so maybe that's the reason?

Benzos are not intended for long term use. Your body becomes dependent upon the benzos. The benzos have lengthy bad side effects all on their own such as memory loss, bloating, diaherra, etc. Many doctors increase the dosage when you should really be trying alternatives to benzos. The higher the dosage and/or the longer someone is on benzos then the longer it will take to safely reduce the dosage (taper down). The biggest problem is that the patient doesn't know and many times the specialists too how difficult it is to recognize that Benzo withdrawal symptoms affect the central nervous system for years with bizarre and dangerous health symptoms.

I get anxiety attacks because of concussion injury. I take lorazepam which acts on the cause of the anxiety. It works like a miracle, I don't feel drugged, I feel normal. Meanwhile I have to live in a very intentional way to not cause stress, and must practice strict mental hygiene and focus on the many methods and therapies of healing.

I do not understand why there are not thousands of videos about how they are taking people in pain off high doses of opioids. People on these for decades. Rapid tapers . There are mass suicides happening in the pain community. No one seems to care.

I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome hypermobility type (type 3) and I’ve been taking a benzodiazepine for six years without any problems whatsoever. I’m prescribed 1mg per night for insomnia, BUT I only take one half, one to three times per week. It’s been wonderfully helpful. Just like with alcohol, a lot of people get hooked, but a lot don’t.

Working for what?. these drugs cause irreversible brain and nervous system damage. Anyone taking them long term should get off. The longer one takes the drugs the more damage caused and a shortened lifespan.

It is not an opiate but works on it's receptors to relieve pain, when using the red variety. It is a miracle for helping people come off of opiates, while relieving their pain. It puts the pain management back in your hands. Remember, while researching, that the FDA hates it, as they can't patent it, and it works. Look for reputable sellers. I do not buy from gas stations, or shops. It saved my life when I ran from the plethora of drugs I had been put on for Fibromyalgia/advanced arthritis. Your sleep studies probably never ruled out UARS, it's possible that it's still a problem to this day. It's common for people with Ehlers-Danlos.

I stopped my klonopin from 0.4mg to zero.. 6 months ago i was taking 8mg... so im also addicted to alchohol en weed en tramadol now i take once a week tramadol 2 relax i think antidepressant is way worser then benzo

Been on clonazepam for over a decade and now going through a rapid taper - it’s affecting my job and I am going to lose it if I cannot figure out what to do . Now all these doctors want to rapid taper after I have been on same dose no problems. I need to go on disability to save my income bc I cannot work like this. I don't want this to come across wrong because I can imagine how it feels. However it needs to be said that these language patterns "they put me on [drug]", "they kept me on [drug]", "my meds", "my medicine", "my prescription", "my diagnosis", "I asked them to take me off [drug]". These never should have been allowed to come into existence to begin with. Life is not a group activity. I can't put it any other way... these were just suggestions that were met with consent. Language patterns like this are bizarre poison, they have to go and stay gone. Been saying this since I was a child, the adults would give me that look, people would snap at me, etc. No. That's the way it is, always has been. I find the attachment hard to understand so I'll jsut leave it there.

I still have the benzo I was abruptly taken off of 22 months ago. My very brilliant doctor decided to put me back on them last year at the same dose but by then I was told by ppl in the benzo group that it wouldn’t help anymore.

I am on klo*** ne and antidepressant Cym***ta. How do you know which pill is causing which symptoms. This is a very discomforting dilemma for me. I stop tapering benzo/klo until my Cym*** taper is complete. The benzo/klp help some symptoms lessen. Horrible state to be in, debilitating, I have similar symptoms to the guest. Vertigo, muscle stiffness, vision weakness, agoraphobia.

I never did Benzos or Opiates neighter had a physical alcohol dependency, but I'm interested in the topic because I suspect that someone in my surrounding has such a problem. Seen on most other channels that Yes, benzo withdrawal is at least as difficult as alcohol or Opiat withdrawal but dependent on the duration and dose you did it can be done in a several weeks to few months taper and that the ''long therm' effects may also last for ~100-200days. Here you regular present even more severe cases where people have serious problems for ~2-3years. how common is that extrem pathway. ~1-2% of cases? or more like ~10% or even more?

thats not how it works for alot of people. most people take benzos and it screws them up. they are not good for the brain look at dr amens work with brain scans. taking benzos causes damage similar to alochol to the brain. i could sign any waver you come up with and i would still be scewed and fucked up and it only took me months of a daily prescription... these shouldnt be prescribed at all unless you are seizing or its a emergency type situation.

Because benzodiazepines are neurotoxic, have severe (possibly life threatening) withdrawals, are extremely addictive, etc. In my opinion its not ethical for a doctor to continue renewing a prescription for such a drug indefinitely, especially when used for anxiety. You're just masking symptoms of a non-life threatening disorder with a dangerous and toxic substance. The risk outweighs the reward.

amitriptaline is an MAOI or similar to MAOI action which is serotonin oriented. The benzo is gaba oriented. Are you researching this beyond just asking a question here? This process thrives on knowledge and patience.

There are definitely worse things than not making it. Eventually we all do die. I do get pissed off that my quality life has been prematurely truncated. But I am alive in not much pain and even though I am on a range of medications, I feel like they are well-balanced. I do not feel there is any need to go off anything I’m taking now. I am 77 years old. I have had several spinal injuries. Am not able to walk without a rollator because my sense of balance is not working any more. Do I imagine myself living very long from now? Not sure how that could work. I have not walked unaided, have not been on a bicycle for years now. I do not go shopping much at all, because I exhaust quite easily. Was diagnosed with spinal stenosis as the cause of my balance issues. So, I do not know what comes next. But am happy that my life is more stable than it’s been for years. So things definitely could be worse.
