Hi Eddy, long time since I’ve asked you a question. I never managed to make my C310 work with onvif or rtsp with scrypted. It’s being discovered tho. On camera ui it works flawlessly. I did pause the plugin on homebridge thinking it might be the cause, but no luck. I’m stuck with snapshot failed

Snapshot failed is related to a network connectivity between the camera and the scrypted plugin. You may want to test the camera connectivity

I have connection through the tapo app and as said on the previous comment, the cam is being found on onvif but I can’t establish a video connection.

Seems this model supports 2K. HomeKit works with 1080P - you will need to check if the video stream on that camera can be downgraded or within Scrypted settings

Really like the channel and videos! One question, any tips on when cameras are not showing up when doing the discover devices in ONVIF plugin? I have Tapo C210 cameras and everything has been working so far with the installation I just can't seem to auto discover the cameras.

After restarting router and home assistant I got the cameras connected but I get snapshot error and no stream. Do I need port forwarding setup? I don’t think I missed any steps in the video.

I was able to solve this. My RTSP password on the tapo cameras had special characters and was causing an error in Scrypted. With special characters in the password I am able to view stream in VLC but not in Scrypted. By changing the password to not include special characters the steam and snapshot functions now work.

I have the camera on separate vlan and home assistant with scrpyted addon on another vlan will this cause issues with Onvif discovery Ian using the Tapo c210

In this situation - you either put all of them on the same VLAN or create port forwarding rules for auto discovery. On my network .. I put my cams and HA on the same VLAN

Hey Eddie, so I've been trying to do this, I can see video perfectly for this cam using ONVIF plugin and also Homekit, however, the motion sensor is not working at all, so it's not recording anything. I tried the MotionCV that you mentioned but it also doesn't work at all, could you help with anything?

I double checked my settings and I am using the onvif plugin that also adds motion detection to it.. Theres nothing more to the config ..

H.264 only works to broadcast video to Homekit. You'll need to check the cameras settings if that can be changed to H.264

I see in the video that the second counter on the video doesn't count seconds, but skips seconds or counts faster. Is this an scypted issue? I'm looking into scypted since there's an lag with a direct connection to home assistant. Will the lag be solved with scrypted?

Thats the power of video editing ... Video lag is directly connected with the network connection as well as on what hardware the service is running on. When it comes to network connection - is the camera on Wifi or LAN connectivity and with regards to Hardware - does it have enough horse power to sustain HA as well as scrypted. Please check those ...

@@timothymckinney1814 I changed my username to admin1 and password admin1, while I got the rtsp stream working with VLC, both Scrypted and Homebridge still showing authentication failure on scrypted, and some error I didn't understand on Homebridge. I'm chatting TP-Link at the moment.

@@brandonfertig contact TP-Link support, they installed a beta version of the firmware that got it going, but before you do, make sure to take the SD card out of the camera and cancel any recording.

Yes i have a video to install scrypted on a Mac and unfortunately since the camera is not homekit native - The PTZ cannot be controlled thru the home app. However - if you enable the auto tracking - the PTZ works automatically and can be seen in HKSV
