Great video, helped me to set mine up right. I bought one of these off Amazon yesterday, it arrived last night and I have just finished installing it this morning. I had a Swann SWIFI Buddy which failed in less than 12 months, battery won't charge properly or hold the charge. I love the adjustable detection zones as the Swann used to give motion notifications when cars went past and when it was windy. No false alarms with the tp-link and it seems to respond much more quickly with the app.I have had tp-link devices and routers for over a decade with no failures, also I use Tapo LED lights in my living room which are great. I was looking to get an 8 camera Swann security system but now I will be going for tp-link.

Can you add a solar panel to keep battery charged like the ring doorbell?

I don't think so. However, this has a 180-day charge, so you only need to charge 2 or 3 times a year

OK so I installed this and I caller can not hear me when I answered the door bell, strangely If I just start the app and tap talk, they can hear , so it is inconvenience the process of going from answering the call to look for the app, it is taking more time then reaching the door. I am returning, I hope it was just a faulty item as I bought from Amazon renewed. The battery also last for 3 days in a very quiet street

little help anyone? Recently moved house and purchased this doorbell. I currently have no ISP provider but I have my router setup and I have added and setup the h200 hub through the Tapo app. When it comes adding the doorbell the hub will not find it, even if I try the quick pair it doesn't work. I have also tried resetting both the hub and the doorbell as suggested in the app but to no avail! Any ideas?

Great video! Would you know if the hub/ chime can be set up on the main router of the house while the actual doorbell is on the sub router? Concerend about the different IPs of the two routers but would like the chime in the back of the house to hear it better.

As far as I'm aware you can't. Each canera would use its own sd card, or you could pay for cloud storage 👍

You can set detection and notification on your app. Ive set it to notify me only when someone rings the bell, you can turn on notification for any motion

@tom5348 - sweet. I've seen some people say that you only get motion notifications on the phone. Good to know that the chime alerts you to motion too. Appreciate your help 👍

@Its_A_London_Thing no problem mate. I just checked to make sure whether I was hallucinating or not. It turns out they are right as well. There is no default option for the chime to ring when it's detected motion. What I had set up was infact an automation on the Tapo app itself. If it detects any sort of motion->play sound on hub. Just an extra step, but it does work. I've also got it to ring some alexa devices around my house which is sort of beyond the audible range of the hub. Either way, you should be good. If you're getting the camera and have any issues setting up the event notification chime just hit me up. Have a good one!
