A pastor who never read the whole Bible?😮
@sues3218
@sues3218 Жыл бұрын
What? A pastor for 40 years and NEVER read the entire bible. WOW! I wonder how many more are like him? How can a pastor be able to refute those who contradict scripture if they themselves have never read it all? The problem we have in many churches in this nation, is that many are not qualified to hold that position of sheperd-teacher. The bible does give the qualifications, and if someone does not have them, they should never be put in a leadership position over God's beloved sheep. I am glad he is finally doing it, but does he understand that he should have never been a pastor to begin with? God's people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. I hope he realizes that he was in disobedience to God all those years, and he truly repents. He could still speak to current pastors who are doing the same thing and rebuke them.

@@sues3218 completely disagree with you, respectfully. I’m not trying to be contentious with you Sue but simply remind you that we ALL fall short of the glory of God. Do you honestly think that every pastor has read through the whole Bible and even if they did, they’re good to go because of that?? Rebuke or celebrate?? Remember the prodigal son vs the son who stayed home and was obedient?? Who was angry and ended up committing the greater sin…. Could it be you.

I’ve come to love reading the Scriptures after listening to Skip Heitzig (Calvary Church NM) The Bible From 30,000 Ft. He moves through the Bible quickly highlighting major points, explaining the language translations, describing the culture past and present, and tying in the Old Testament to the New Testament. Now, the scriptures flow easily and don’t seem so random.

People need to understand, FAITH is created by God, only he can give it to you, it’s not something we conjure up or magically feel, if God almighty doesn’t CHOOSE! to give it to you, one will never come to Jesus. All praise goes to God almighty, if you say somehow you just decided to choose Jesus, then you get the praise, wrong, God get ALL! the praise because he chose you from the foundation of the earth.

Reading God's Word is spiritual food. Read every day. Stop when you're full. Start from the first book of Genesis, till you reach Revelation. No hurry, no time limit. Some days you've only had a sentence or two, other days you've devoured a few chapters! Ask the lord to fill you with hunger for His word and with His understanding. After you've finish reading the entire Bible, start over! Just like our physical bodies, our spiritual bodies need daily bread! Your faith will increase and you will experience perfect peace!

The Bible Recap is an answer to my prayer that I really didn't even pray! God knows my heart and He knows what I need and He met me where I was!! Thank you Tara Leigh God is truly working through you to help so many people like me!! I still have several days left and it's taken me well over a year to go through the entire Bible but don't be discouraged if you fall behind. Tara-Leigh will even tell you it's OK. I grew up around Seattle, with ZERO church background. I got saved in 1980 at age 24. I had been raised on books (but no Bible), so I had always been an avid reader....but when I began reading the Bible, it was like nothing I had ever experienced....it is quite literally the Sword of the Spirit. No other 'book' reaches into the soul of a person and destroys them, rejuvenates them, convicts them of guilt and convinces them of forgiveness all at the same time. It is God breathed, and He breaths it into us. He reveals Himself in His Word. Seeing God is not always comfortable when His Word contradicts our pathetic, fallen human notions of who and what God 'should be'. BUT...surrendering to the truth of who God is, results in a freedom that is astounding, a faith that will not be shaken, a peace that passes all understanding, and a love for Him that is breathtaking. What an amazing mystery! In 2.5 years, I'll be 70, and in the 43 years since Jesus saved me, the Bible has never lost it's power both both break me and make me. Time is so very short now...Jesus will Harpazo His people home literally any day, and I am longing for it! But until then....my Bible is my most treasured physical posession, and I'm clinging to it and my Father like a dog with a bone. OK, I'm stepping down from the pulpit now...

What a real encouragement. Thank you Kirk, and your team, for bringing Tara on and allowing her to walk through the Scriptures in a way many of us miss, myself included. I don't know how many times I have heard or uttered the words "it's about relationship with God", know that that is true, yet still read the Scriptures like a to do list. God has been working on me over this last year while I have been in the deepest valley in my life. He is so gracious in giving me a deeper understanding of Him and the world I live in. Today's message is another gift from Him through Tara and Kirk, as an important reminder that God is calling us to come along side Him, in order to gain an accurate and Godly perspective that we lack on our own.

This is what I am teaching at the moment. I meet so many Christian’s who read books about the bible yet never read the bible. When I ask them how they know the books are correct they say , ‘well the books mention Jesus and God’, to which I reply, ‘but how do you really know they are correct’, and this is when they can’t answer. The old devil will do everything to stop us read ‘God’s word’ because it is what it is - God’s word! It’s how He speaks to us. Thanks for this Kirk - from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Ask yourself, do I want to have a personal relationship with Jesus? What is God saying to you? Are you listening and hearing the Lord speak to you? Do you want intimacy with Him that brings LIFE? This Joy and pleasure forevermore? Are you free? Do you want to be? Free from bondage…. Free from sin….Do you see what is in others and desire to have what they have? A real tangible intimate relationship with the Living God who loves you and wants you? You can have it too, go to HIM. Jesus, go to HIM. He is the way the truth and the life. Don’t just read the Bible to get “head knowledge” it is ALIVE & active, Jesus is the living Word! Ask Him to speak to you through His Word and in your life. No one wants a relationship based on obligation, You want them to WANT you. He desires a relationship of love with you. We love because He first loved us. We are born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. 🙏 Ask, seek, knock. Draw near and He will draw near to you.Seek Him with all your heart. Come to the Living Water, you who thirst! Out of you will flow rivers of Living Water! With JOY you will draw water out of the wells of salvation! If you are reading this and wanting this in your heart, know that you are not reading this by chance and that He is drawing you by His Spirit. He knocks at the door of your heart, won’t you let Him in?❤️

For everyone? Sadly, I don’t see this. Guess I need to spend more time with Him to find the “joy” and focus on His perspective

Jesus is the Word Let our Lord lift us, strengthen, and help us uphold The Truth. Jesus is The Word, John 1:1-5 The Word God spoke: Exodus 20:1 The Word God wrote: Deuteronomy 4:13 and The Word God made flesh John 1:14. He is our example of The Trinity, He is The Truth. Yes, those Ten Commandments is Jesus. When God tells us in Deut.6:8-9 to bind and wear His Word He is placing us in His Son, Jesus. Jesus keeps the custom by asking those who love Him to "keep" His Words even as He kept His Father's. So if you obey God, and love Jesus, one would "keep" both the law (Ten Commandments) and the testimony (Sermon on the Mount) as instructed in Deut. God will preserve life, Jesus protects it. They will keep all evil from you. Put the armour of God on all those you love. May the Spirit/voice of both The Father and The Son go with us all, for from the heart the mouth speaks. Let the Law that hung on the cross and the Law written in your heart not just guide you, but lead you and your loved ones. As Paul would say, put on Jesus. Psalms 40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me, Hebrews 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Set your borders, protect your family, times are getting touchy, hold your ground and trust in our Lord. Be prepared both the physically and spiritually. Build up the body of Christ by 'putting on' The Lord. Our peace is knowing He is "in" you, and you are "in" Him. What can we lose by obeying God? May we learn to do God’s will with the help of Jesus. Obey God, love Jesus and may we all stand in His Day. Time is short, Ephesians 5:16 Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. What harm can come from spreading the voice of God by doing. If you can believe true evil exist, then why can't we believe true good does as well. Armour up and let's fight this. We are all warriors, so act like it. Prepare the way of the Lord. Don't be without law and love when He returns. Are we bearing the fruit of the Tree of Life?

I always wonder about Jesus simply saying "Follow Me", and then the apostles one by one would drop everything and followed him. I found this amazing article and I was balling my eyes out, because it gave me a whole new appreciation for His love for us. 😥😇😥💕 It's called: "MAY YOU BE COVERED WITH THE DUST OF YOUR RABBI" In the New Testament a Rabbi would call a new disciple by saying, “Follow Me,” it meant from that time forward their life would change drastically as they would be dead to their old life and alive to their new life. They would literally leave everything they knew and begin to follow their new teacher. ~If you were called to follow a Rabbi, you would be taking their set of rules and their teaching upon you, with the idea that one day you would perpetuate their ideas to future generations. A Rabbi’s set of teachings in that day was called their “yoke.” This is what Jesus was talking about when he said, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for … For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). The Rabbis of Jesus’ day put a heavy yoke loaded with burdens on men and did not help to lift them. ~Around the age of 14 or 15 years old, the young men would finish their schooling and the Rabbis would go to these schools and question these young men. They would then choose the best of the best to be their disciples and would call them using the same phrase that Jesus used, “Follow Me.” The Rabbi wanted to find out if you had what it takes to spread his yoke. The new disciple would then leave his hometown and everything he knew, and would follow him everywhere, giving his life to be exactly like his Rabbi. The student would follow the Rabbi and literally imitate him in every way, especially his teaching and mannerisms. ~As one would leave and begin to follow, others would say to him, “May you be covered with the dust of your Rabbi.” The students followed him so closely that the dust from the road that came from the feet of the Rabbi would cover the disciple. That should be the desire of every disciple of Christ, to walk so close to him that we would be covered with his dust. ~If a young man was rejected by the Rabbi, he would say to him, “Go home, have children, and pray that they may become a Rabbi. Go home and ply your trade (go home and learn the family business).” ~Matthew 4:18-22 describes Jesus calling four of his disciples to follow him, “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. ~(Why were these men fisherman, because they were not chosen to be a potential Rabbi; they were plying their trade.) And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him. ~Jesus calling these young men was just the same as saying, “I believe you can be like me and I believe you have potential, you have what it takes. I believe God can use you.” This was one of the greatest privileges in their culture. ~Imagine you were on the shore when this scene unfolds. Jesus walks by and calls James and John, the sons of Zebedee, they drop everything and immediately begin to follow Jesus. I would have thought that their father would have said, “… you kids now a days, running off, leaving me with all this work, where do you think you’re going.” Nothing like that was spoken. I imagine that Zebedee ran home and said something like this, “The boys aren’t with me mom, a Rabbi, Jesus of Nazareth, came along and called our boys, and he thinks that they have what it takes to be a Rabbi someday.” Maybe the next morning, he sees the usual men preparing for the day’s work that is ahead of them and he can’t wait to brag on his sons. I assure you that this became the talk of the town, Zebedee’s family stock soared that day, and this is what every father dreamed of for his son. ~I often wondered why Peter would get out of a perfectly good boat in the middle of a storm. His Teacher was not in the boat and he wanted to be just like him, so he stepped out and walked on the water. Peter would rather be surrounded by the waves and be with Jesus than to be in a safe boat without him. Peter wanted to be covered with the dust of his Rabbi, to follow Him. What Jesus did, Peter wanted to do, where Jesus was, Peter wanted to be. May you be covered with the dust of your Rabbi! ~I was just thinking about how Jesus washed His dust off of the feet of his disciples. They were dirty, because they followed so closely behind Him. It was now time for them to step up, and have the world follow what they have to say about Jesus! Yet Judas was covered in that same dust, but he decided to betray him like billions of so-called Christians today that do not obey Jesus, but are still choosing to obey their flesh! Written by Pastor Tim Bartee in Sidney. I was in church for 50 years and I never read my Bible and then 5.5 years ago I almost killed myself, and then Lord reminded me that it only takes 1 Day to Listen to the dramatized New Testament Bible. Ever since then I've been reading/listening to my Bible cover to cover every single month.. While I drive, walk, work, clean, bathe... So who needs TV or social media when we've got The Word of God that sets us free. I suddenly had a radical conversion and surrendered my ENTIRE life to Christ...after I read 1st JOHN 3:9-10, it Absolutely scared me too the core and I stopped making excuses for my sin. I was kidnapped for sex trafficking the very day that I ran away from home after my mom had murdered my twin baby sisters she said she was going to murder me. After God saved my soul that day, Now I truly love God with all my heart, all my mind, all my sou, andl all my strength. He healed my Mind Body Soul and Spirit.. Ever since then I've never experienced anger, fear, unforgiveness, guilt, shame, rejection, bitter, lustful thoughts, loneliness, worry/stress, lying, gossip, etc 🎉 I can't believe that I used to think I was Born Again, not even close, but more like a Foolish Virgin. When I go out and evangelist I just ask people to Push Play and let the TRUTH set you free!!! The area I live in is filled with so many lukewarm Christians it's heartbreaking, but Jesus said it would be this way in the last days.

To the point starting 7:26, this is the key differentiator between a saved Christian and a religious person. Pagans typically think along the lines of "if i appeal to the gods then I can get what I want or what fulfills/comforts me". A lot of people, Christians included, treat God along these lines. Kirk shared an example: family member going through Chemo- what is the right prayer? He even said it in a self-focused way "God is working behind the scenes for a later chapter in MY life." If you understand that the Bible is God's Revelation to mankind, as adoption papers into His family, and as the Truth of life, then you need to understand that God is the hero and we are wretched people who are added in as little cogs in the machine of His Kingdom. It's not about you. Sorry if this offends you, but we're more like the nuts and bolts of a car instead of the engine. None of the OT stories were about the people. It was about how God worked through it all, how He punished wicked people and favored a people that He made His own. David's victories were not his. It was God's. And yet I see people utilizing verses to puff themselves up and using Scripture asa weapon to alienate others. There's a huge disconnect between what Scripture says and how people use it.

Um so has she repented from being in "ministry" as a women? 1 Timothy 2 11-12 Titus 2 3-5 1 Corinthians 11 1-34 And im sorry to say if she has not she still has not understood what Gods hates and loves what God will is for us, what it actually is to follow God in obedience and now she is teaching error to Gods children and leading them astray and God hates those that do that so I pray she will repentance and come to true salvation in Jesus and truly follow Christ, and that she will help women and children come to Jesus and encourage those who believe to follow Him in true obedience, Amen 🙏✝️

I have to say it, you guys can be mad but I'm saying it; Nothing in this entire conversation was about Jesus, he name was not even mentioned and the bibile makes it clear that only by his name can God hear us. He is the only way to God. Yet, his name was never mentioned. I know you'll say well its a given. No, don't be a fool, she is dismissing Jesus thinking she is going to get to God directily without him. She was right when she said she had problems with the Bible, she refuese to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ first sacrament.. Joel Olseen does this. Jesus is not the center of his sermon, they all think they can get to God without Christ and you all fail to see this false teaching, even if it's with good intentions. She's not married, she's not under a man of God, she's out there on her own, doing this foolishness, thinking she found the Ark of the Covernant from the old teachings. Very dissapointed, sitting here we Jesus and watching this. I personally felt like I was watching to Jews discuss there love for God and how he is to them. She tries to get into heaven, God will be looking for the blood and name of his son, even that brused knees where she knelt before him daily. He will not find it. She is not the first, there are other women from Jewish heritage, speaking about the bible and directly to God but is collecting money from Christians to fund things themselves and against Jesus. If you won't say is name your message is in vain.

There was a guy in the church that I used to attend and whenever he would be brought to tears of joy or lift his hands in praise, I would think, “man I wish I had what he had!” It took me longer than I care to admit that I do have what he has…the Holy Spirit in my heart and a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I am not one to say don't read the Bible or you don't need the Bible but the best thing about God is that He gave us the Holy Spirit. I think the Holy Spirit trumps the message of this video. Many times God has revealed something to me before I even read it in the Bible or that I even knew it was in the Bible. Flesh and blood have not shown this to you but My Father in heaven. God will call His People out no matter what!

THE BIBLE OK. BUT ASK YOURSELF WHY DID OVER THE CENTURYS, WHY DID THE TRANSLATOR OF THE HEBREW BOOK WHY DID THEY TAKE THE NAME OF THE GREAT ONE YAHWEH MY HEAVENLY FATHER, OUT IT ONLY, TO REPLACE IT WITH PAGAN TITLES, WHEN THE GREAT ONE YAHWEH, CLEARLY SAY TO HIS PEOPLE THE HEBREWS, DO NOT DO AS THE NATION AROUND YOU DO, DO NOT WORSHIP ME IN THE WAY THEY WORSHIP, THE BIBLE OK, BUT WHY DID THE TRANSLATOR, REPLACE THE NAME OF THE SAVIOR YAHSHUA. WITH A LATIN NAME JESUS, SO ARE YOU REALLY WORSHIPPING THEM IN TRUE, WHEN YOU CALL ON THE NAMES OF PAGAN TITLES

I have been doing reading this read with her! I am 60 and said some of the same things before I started. But I have to say I am seeing God’s word in a whole new way, eyes opened!!!! After reading and then going to KZbin for her Bible recap and then God shot I am wow!!! I see things in day to day living so differently, I see more God shots in my daily life more then ever before. Truly amazing I pray I continue this every year. Because He truly is where the joy is and you find Him in His word! Whew I love it! I am so thankful that a friend brought me to her at the end of December so I could do this with her. I feel so very blessed. I usually get a word for the year and this year was commitment and discipline and after my friend invited me to do this I thought hmmm yep definitely will take discipline and commitment to do this! God is so good!
