You have two lovely boys. Apollo is very kind. You can see how much he likes being with you, and an occasional treat doesn't hurt either. Thank you for showing us how important spending time with them is. He stood there patiently for the "trim" because of the trust you have in each other. It is really great to see.

Loved his sweet neighing to get going. I am certainly no expert on horses, but I believe this shows he is happy & needs these activities with you. However I do want to mention that Ren is so nice with Apollo as is Apollo with him. Love it when Ren says to him "Good Man." In my previous comment I neglected to say how much we love Ikey too!

I had a gorgeous Thoroughbred that was very easy to handle, for the most part. Tully was stress trained and never spooked (except when the dog tried to bite his hind legs and I was thrown) and was understanding of commands, like Apollo. Tully had one problem though ... he could count. It made no difference which foot I chose first or last, or in between ... or when the farrier was dealing with shoes. Any foot or leg .... until the last one .. number four. I guess Tully thought he had only three feet ... the fourth was a fight ... every time!

@@shelleyandcritters841 What is mud fever? What causes it? Humidity? Wet climates? I dont have hairy footed ponies, but I know that some hairy foots get "scratches" and this is related to moisture/continual wet ground. Again, I don't have hairy foots so I don't know what it is.
@shelleyandcritters8415 жыл бұрын
@@ktgodwin100 yep mud fever is the same as scratches. If the skin is constantly wet/muddy it can cause bacteria or fungi to grow. If a horse has feathers, it's harder to dry the fetlock and pastern area so that's why feathered horses are more prone to it.
