Thanks for this! Would love to see a video on face scrubs: I don’t find jojoba beads exfoliate enough to bother with the investment (a lot of makers use beads in face scrubs and they’re expensive) so I’m going to experiment with two varieties - an enzymatic scrub (I recently bought cosmetic grade pineapple enzyme power) and one using clays that are gently exfoliating like kaolin (which is also nice because it doesn’t leave a mess around your sink like some of the French clays or the darker clays you associate with mud masks). Anyway, I’d love some tips if you’re interested in producing a new face scrub video!
@TaraLeee3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much for watching!!! 😊 I personally don't really like jojoba beads that much either because of how expensive they are. The perk of them is that they can be used in aqueous scrubs unlike sugar and salt, so that is why crafters reach for them at times. Also I got one in my eye once and that was not fun! lol Yes kaolin clay would be far less messier. rhassoul clay is so messy! Hope your scrub comes out great!

I've heard that sugar creates micro tears on the face just because the skin is softer/more sensitive. So bacteria can enter the skin through those tears. But every body's skin is different. I use jojoba beads on my face. Actually making some body sugar scrub today so thanks for this video😁
@TaraLeee3 жыл бұрын
I've heard a lot of different things when it comes to physical exfoliants causing micro tears. So I'll just let each of my viewers use their own judgment on that 😊 I personally only like using chemical exfoliants on my face, although sometimes I do get some flaky skin on my face that needs some immediate attention so I'll use a sugar scrub. Over all I think chemical exfoliants are the best way to go for the face, but people like what they like and do what they wanna do. lol Jojoba beads definitely have their perks, but I don't like using them in my face scrubs because I got one in my eye once 😂 I'm sure I'll still share formulas using jojoba beads in the future though.

@-kohakuma-3 жыл бұрын
Microtears was one of the first things we had to debate about during cosmetology core classes at Paul Mitchell. You are correct that due to your face and eyes having the thinnest areas of skin, you are more likely to cause micro tears depending on how hard you scrub and how abrasive your sugar is. 1. I never recommend using normal sugar on your face due to how large the particles are. Use a finer exfolient. 2. But if you absolutely want sugar, create castor sugar by blending it in a blender for a finer particle. But even then I wouldn't recommend it. Castor sugar is great for lips though. Its actually my secret in my lip scrubs and customers always wondered why my scrubs left their lips softer than generic scrubs. Lush is one of the only other mass produce brands that take the time to castor their sugar. But There are definitely far more abrasive tools that you are likely using on a daily basis that is causing worse micro tears, so do be careful on the scrubbing tools you may he using ! ♡

Hi I uploaded not last week but the week before. Have you seen my other recent uploads? Also I apologize that I haven’t been able to upload as often. My business has become more than a full time job, so I don’t get much time to record and edit anymore
