When I was in my early 20s I was at an art exhibition taking photos of the artwork, a man started talking to me about photography, giving me some tips because he supposedly was a photographer. In my country it's pretty common to talk to people you have just met, so it wasn't something weird. The conversation was quiet normal, just about photography and the exhibition. We continued seeing the rest of the exhibition while talking until suddenly he tried to walk around hand in hand with me, when I didn't allowed it he said something about kissing me. I was so shocked. How the hell he could think that talking about the exhibition we both and a bunch of people were seeing meant I was interested in dating him or something?

His argument, “why are you smiling if you don’t like me?” And “why don’t you just walk away, then?” There was a very good reason for that last one. I didn’t want the guy to know where I lived. I wish I was Hashinshin's carpet is right. Reading body language isn't bad. It's great to have guys understanding the subtle hints of 'no'. Not every girl is going to 'enthusiastically consent'. It's not so clear when you're trying to find out if a shy person is actively pursuing you. I don't like that you said 'consent', as if not 'enthusiastically consenting' means you aren't consenting. I'm hinging the emphasis on 'enthusiastically' because I really am not 'enthusiastically passionate, energetic' or otherwise about men in general. I mean I watch these YT channels about picking up women sometimes. It's nice to see how men think sometimes. Yep. After taking a dance class that was almost all women, and getting to know them and interacting with them in a normal way, women tended to like me more. I even got to reject a girl who was interested in me, because I couldn't trust her because she was on a different team in my robotics class. And was only interested in me as a potential boyfriend, and was trying to make me jealous of another guy she was interested in. I would have been totally fine with her being with me and another guy, or with just being friends, but she skipped being friends and went straight to trying to make me jealous. I'm glad most people are not like that. That was a strange experience. I kinda wish I had asked for some of those girls' numbers, as quarantine started suddenly at the end of my senior year, and I only had my best friend's phone number. Consequently, I haven't talked with a woman outside my immediate family for more than a couple sentences in over a year. It sucks. I'm sure at least one of the girls I knew was interested in women's fashion, and since I'm genderfluid and tend to dress extremely femininely, I'm sure we could have had quite a few good conversations about fashion. Or just about any other mutual interest. It's just that all of my friends are men who are not interested in women's fashion.

As said in the video there's no consideration for the person on the other end, in fact in the mind of many men it's not a person it is but a means to an end, an object. Your 'no' is then simply receive as an obstacle to overcome, a challenge that has to be meant (like a broken piece of equipment), one that will go as far as qualifying the person as a man (fitting the received identity) or not (and suffering the low self-esteem and having no identity)... This is why he is still texting you after you've said and meant no.

As fun as it is to laugh at the PUAs, I also feel bad for some of the people that fall for it. I'm glad you mentioned that early in the video. I'm an autistic person in my 30's who still can't understand most flirting nuances. As a teenager, I was always flabbergasted when my friends told me some one was interested or flirting with me, and if I was into it I should flirt back. I know parts of that sound incredibly simple, but they might as well have been speaking another language. And eventually when I did try to act on specific suggestions, I would take them very literally and it always came off strange. Ex. "Compliment him and let you know how you feel. " 14 yo me: walks up and says, "I like the books I see you reading. I feel nervous. Ok bye." Now, I obviously know better than to pay or listen to these creeps, but as a teenager I might have jumped at the chance to get such dumbed-down step-by-step tutorials on talking with people i was attracted to. Or just people in general... I'm not saying only autistic people fall for this or deserve pity, that's just how I relate to the subject through my own experiences.

Why is “if a girl looks at you that means she likes you” the mindset of every single male in a club. Gotta look at the floor i guess. 5 months after posting this comment I am still getting replies from women sharing their experiences of men making them feel uncomfortable (at least). If you are a man reading this, there are so many small steps you can take to make women feel safer in general. Please be respectful of consent, personal space and boundaries, and when in doubt, assume women do not want you to approach them. Women have had to make changes to their everyday lives (crossing the road, not walking at night, carrying rape alarms, to name a few) that make them feel safer- please make small changes to your behaviour to make women feel safe too. It is a small ask that has huge consequences. And to those asking me for dating advice like I'm qualified or something- get a dating app, meet people through friends or common interests. As a Romanian, I despise the way (especially) Western men tend to fetishize Eastern European girls. The fact that EE girls are, on average, less "feminist" is a sad reality that comes from living in a horrifyingly patriarchal society. The fact that these men desire an Eastern European culture - one that "breeds" "nicer" women - frightens me, as these cultures also have: incredibly high rates of domestic violence, a huge volume of cervical cancer cases (women have limited access to medical resources), highest rates of teen mothers, terrifyingly prevalent rape culture. Being a woman in Eastern Europe is a nightmare (at least in my experience). The fact that these men choose "having more approachable women" OVER these women's overall wellbeing is sinister. Also, I've always found it interesting that countries with less "wokeness" (E.g. Eastern Europe, let's say Romania) are the same countries with limited access to education (highest rates of illiteracy, highest rates of kids that don't go to school). I don't think it's a coincidence. American men should be thankful they have feminists. It means that their women got the chance to go to school, to learn, to think, to be happy, to be safe, to choose. This shows that men like these don't really see women as people deserving of joy, but as pieces of meat for their own consumption. Sickening.

Terry Crews has said that most men don't see women as "all the way human" and your comment as well as the video really implemented that idea as being more true than I ever would have thought. Clearly these types of men see us as trophies as well as servants, we're not human who think and feel, and have wants desires and needs but simply exist to please them and they can do whatever it is they want to us. That being said I have been very fortunate to grow up where the majority of my experiences with men have been normal but we still have do far to go and the fact that they take advantage of women in desperate situations just ... Breaks my heart.

Well said. Most of my roommates in art school (animation major) were women hailing from either eastern Europe or China and all were frustrated by the expectation to act "submissive" to western men. My male friends, who considered themselves guys who respected and shared equal tasks with women, would often view these women differently, like more "child like" despite the intense dedication these women had for their craft, spending from 7am to 3am in animation labs to perfect their senior thesis. It made me so ticked and I empathized especially with the gay women I roomed with because often they couldn't openly pursue the women they liked and had to bend to social pressures even away from home. Happy to say one of my roommates has married her college sweetheart and both ladies are doing wonderfully.

Not true. My girlfriend of almost 4 years now I realized must have zero self-esteem or something. Each time a guy meets her stating intentions like wanting to be friends where ever it may be that they met. Soon after getting her number if they start flirting and sending hearts and w.e. I'm like uh... did you tell him you have a bf? She's like yea but it's not like its red hearts it's green hearts. I'm like uh..... no. You're not allowed to see anybody that you have to keep repeating your boundaries to. It's that simple. But it's like I'm speaking a foreign language to her and all they need to do be is be persistent and nice. Even its at the point she is clearly annoyed by it, it can go on for weeks. She's naive enough that this has happened 3, 4 times now and sure it's been over like 3 years but still. She never ever gets a clue about it. He started telling her I AM the red flag for being jealous and controlling. I was so angry. I'm like ok well if that were the case would I have no problem with you hanging out with people, guys, girls you name it, a guy I KNOW you think is cute I don't care you spend time with etc I don't have an issue in general? even going to a guy's house? NO. Obviously, it's how THIS particular guy treats you. Recently she told me it's just not what crosses her mind that he's hitting on her. It's frustrating. How many suggestive comments and green hearts and asking you to hang out does it take? So basically what I am saying is that it is sad but true. People prey on low self-esteem and especially like my gf who is kind and has a hard time saying no to people. She is getting better at asserting her boundaries but boy does it still worry me. I try to tell her well If you would get mad at me if I ever ignored something you said or annoyed at me for something then nobody else should be doing that! Sigh. ok sorry, I guess that's more of a rant. I guess what im trying to say is some people do have a hard time with someone that is merely being persistent so I have to imagine it does work on some girls even if said girl is not happy about it. It sounds crazy but I now imagine this works on low self-esteem more often than I realize. She has never and would never cheat on me and always shows me the texts but only after it got to the point she cant get rid of the guy. I'm always like uh.. yea but... this went on for a month or two... you have to work on your boundaries.

@@iloveyoulawliet179 I'm sorry that true, it sucks. In my case In particular, because that girl and I ended up breaking up recently after 4 years. The fact is you can't have a healthy relationship if you don't enforce and respect your boundaries. Let alone respect other's boundaries. It hopefully will become natural to speak your truth and be yourself. No one should have priority, yes you can take turns sure, but overall it should be a collaboration. When people are selfish and self-absorbed its not going to end well. I'm sorry, you have to put it with this. All I can say is you loving yourself and being honest is the only way you get to express the best version of yourself and hopefully be happier. Don't be afraid to speak up! Sure not everyone will like you anymore but you will have closer relationships or friendships if you do. I learned all too late why this relationship was always going to fail. Its my fault too I always played into her needs and ignored my own. After years of that of course I was unhappy. But I also always felt frustrated how she likes to please everyone and only acts like herself with me in private. So it makes sense people would be able to push what they want on her but the US in anything was pretty much nonexistent. It was either I'm helping her or she's not there for me and dealing with something I should help with. It was never my turn or a collaboration. The thing with the guys was just one area where that happened often. It didn't make sense for the longest time. If you don't like that dude block him? you DONT have to go see him wth. In my opinion, should she have just blocked those people and moved on? Like how were they more important than her actual partner who is always there for her. It never made sense. I get it now, yes. Part of it is the boundaries but it was a bunch of stuff. Anyways sorry! I'm over-communicating. TMI? ok, I don't know you so well so I'm just gonna say I hope you learn to push for that best version of yourself no matter who likes it or not! Don't be afraid to say no. Have a nice day =)

Because who were the ones who established these sexist gender roles in the first place? It’s like getting mad when we say that systemic racism was created by white people. Not all white people perpetuate the racism but it doesn’t change the fact that it was put in place by white colonizers. I swear some people just want to be obtuse so I have to thank you again for listening with an open mind. I honestly thought that talking about how the patriarchy hurts men would get more men interested in taking down the patriarchy because so many men complain that feminism ignores men’s issues. I'm 20 and I feel this way too. It annoys me that men think women face no difficulty in dating. Do they seriously think I'm delighted that so many men would be willing to objectify me but not have any interest in me as a person? But there ARE nice men (and women) out there. My cousins are all nice men who treat their girlfriends and wives well. My aunt remarried in her 50s to a lovely man who she met in an online game. Don't be in a rush to date, don't be afraid to be cautious if you do decide to try dating. Your boundaries are always what's important. And you can have lots of fun without dating. I've somehow managed to go my entire time at uni without dating anyone and I don't really regret it because instead I had a lot of time to spend with my friends and had the time to do all kinds of activities that I maybe wouldn't have the time for if I had a partner. @anni13484 жыл бұрын
According to his logic he himself obviously wanted to get run over with a car. He asked for it. I mean he left his house and walked on the street. Because it definitely can't be the car drivers fault, i mean the driver was just choose to running him over with the car. You know drivers just naturally do that, they have this natural urge to run over people and take their lifes, thats totally normal. So they completely lose every control of themselves when they see people walking around, BeCaUsE drivers are not able to think and request their actions before they commit them, they get controlled by their hormones and urges. All Drivers are naturally murders, that's the way it is, victims of getting run over, should deal with it. It's not the drivers fault, these poor drivers just don't have self-control whenever they see people. We should definitely legalize running over people. If you don't want to be run over, just don't leave your house at all, problem solved. And If someone is trying to run you over, it's definitely your own fault, you didn't fight enough or you provoked it by being a person and walking outside.

Ill admit I read some of these books and seen some videos back in the limewire days. The underlying theme I found was become social, make friends, create a support group to bolster your confidence, use that to get girls, find a good woman. The whole pickup act tries to find an exploit in that chain and go straight to getting girls and use that to create your external confidence which is only a facade. Back to the point that "DoucheV can stop shooters by teaching them game," its not Game or p*ssy that's stopping incel rage, its a sense of community and worth, although sports or crafts, skills of some sort would be much better than banging randos for validation.

sorry for any mistakes, english isn't my native language I actually dated a guy that have purchased a course of a pickup artist while we were together. In a incredible short period of time he went from this nice and educated boy to the biggest jerk on earth. I wish I could tell that I dumped him immediately but I believed that "it was just a phase" and he would change. EVERYTHING in that relationship was a manipulation, my mental health at the end was inexistent.

Any time you have to qualify something as legal or not, you've lost the argument. For anyone who says, "It's not illegal to talk to underage people." Obviously has a complete lack of self awareness. It's not illegal to scream loudly in a public library but it is still highly frowned upon and discouraged for good reason. It's rude and inappropriate. Legality isn't the only thing to be considered when addressing the issues of how men and boys interact with girls and women. The fact that these "pick up artists" haven't picked up on that point is truly disturbing. Also. If you have to repeatedly beg, manipulate, and harass someone to have sex with you, you don't deserve the title of seduction artist because clearly you're not good at seduction. BTW: Having sex with men doesn't stop them from becoming violent. In fact, some men constantly use sex as violence...

I liked hbomberguy's observation about Roosh and his ilk: many of them tell their viewers that sex itself isn't even that gratifying (not a surprise if you are just in it for your own orgasm and/or bro points). So, their whole 'community' is built around a never-ending chase for something they don't even want, which they can never abandon for fear of being judged as less of a man. What a fucking sad existence.

I'm glad you talked about the idea of men's pressures in the first part of the video. As a gay guy you are literally not allowed to say no to anyone or there's something wrong with you. I would be lying to myself to not say that there's very few exceptions to that rule. I've never personally been a super sexual person and unfortunately that dictates my already very low worth in the gay community. Not to be an ass but sometimes I see the way straight people talk about their struggles and distaste with these kinds of people and I almost think "If only you knew how bleak it can get." I know that's not constructive nor does it help anyone but me - but it eats away at the back of my mind like a disease all the tine. You can't go to gay spaces unless you want it. Right before quarantine I was at a gay bar supporting a friend (a space which I usually avoid for this very reason) and had a guy physically try to force himself on me in the bathroom. When I rejected him almost everyone in the place laughed it off even though I was very hurt by it. In the gay world not only are you pressured to always say yes ... but when you don't, no one cares. And I mean no one. Your own peers don't support you. It's all a joke. Hope the world changes as I get older. Figures.

The threat is real. I've seen those "men" commenting this so often. MGTOW are also good at this. Crying about how women are gold-diggers and burdens, while saying "date abroad or stay single"..... Meaning, dating women who still have to be dependent of men, and are still docile etc. F disgusting. It really shows how they truly are.
