I received mine as well on Thursday. I love it! My X9D will wait for repair ... I watched your Taranis playlist, combined with Painlesss360 and NJ Tech, and finally my Q X7 is ready to serve! :D It is almost the same, with the powerful Open TX. No, I will not play any PC simulator whit my transmitter again! :( It's not funny to stay on the ground ... I'm curious to see what you say after a few days. JC, I know you'll remain objective. They really are great. If you want a head start on the set up then you can watch my X9D playlist, but I'm making a new playlist just for the Q X7. But most videos will be very similar.

Project Blue Falcon Yeah I've actually already watched your X9D videos for my setup which helped out alot. I've already done a new boot sound, setup the amber pack to use on the switches and changed my splash screen. However with the splash screen I have had some issues with it only seemingly wanting to change when it felt like it. I was using the companion app but it didn't really talk nice with the firmware. Hopefully the full version of 2.2 will come out soon. Thanks for all the great content and Im looking forward to the X7 playlist.

I disassembled the stock 2000mah Ni-Mh X9D battery and rebuilt it flat to fit the QX7. Excellent battery life with this.

the x9d does have a headphone jack its on the back opposite side of the usb from the trainer plug.

Received mine as well. No need to remove the spring on the throttle gimbal...you can simply release spring tension using the adjustment screws. Also moving models from X9D seem to require some changes. Best to use OpenTX Companion software to make this a little easier. I do like the feel and price of this radio. I don't see why I would need anything else.

Flipping a switch to turn a Tx off is a bad idea. This design keeps you from inadvertently turning off your transmitter mid flight. Not that that happens a lot but it's best to keep that a near impossibility. I'm loving this transmitter!

You mentioned removing a spring from the throttle to make it a non center loaded, as you will find out that is not how its done. Keep the videos coming like the component ones best myself.

That's the way I prefer. The gimbals are just like the X9D. You could loosen the spring but I just remove them the tighten the clamps.

Nice videos..... Can you upload a video where, the throttle provides analog signals to the 1 & 2 channel which I want to use for the drive. 1 and 2 channel for the drive.

What receiver should I use? I am really interested in buying this one, as it is only 104 on Amazon, but I can't find good receivers. From what I've seen its just the two switches and two sliders. Haven't found anything else the X9D can do that the Q X7 cant do.

Can someone help me out with this I think I'm going to build a kwad that weights around auw:300-350g (without GoPro with should be around 380-430g) throttle range is mid-high 2205 2300kv prop is 5040x2 and battery is 850mah 14.8v what flight time should I expect?

fly with a 1300, you'll be getting about 2-3 minutes of hard flying with that set up. if you're flying with an 850 you'll be liiking at 1-2 minutes

What keeps me from pulling the trigger on one of these is the cramped low res screen. It seems like an acceptable screen... for a $40 radio. Is it a PITA to use in practice, I don't know. On the plus side, a lot of people have done a lot of colorful case mods for them. I'd just keep an eye on RMRC. I was checking it all day for a few days. They showed only 5 in stock around 6pm on Monday, I ordered it, then checked back an hour later and they were sold out.

well this Just helped me make my mind up I thought there was something I would be missing out on not getting the X9 Plus but if there are no real difference and half the price of the X9 and the DX^ its hard to not pick the QX7. I didn't know if it had the voice stuff or not and now knowing it does I'm sold thx again. Now to find it in stock and a US seller. I don't want a clone and with Banggod and those places I never know what I'm going to get. I have had decent luck with them but for a bigger buy like a Radio I want to make sure I get what I ordered. I have been watching RMRC but I don't get paid till next week but ill be saving the money to buy one. RMRC is my go to as well.

DX6 is a dead end experience. OK for miniquads and simple airplanes but that's were the talent ends. Build quality is notionally better than Taranis but Taranis has voice call out for telemetry, huge model memory space, industry leading RF link and ultimate program-ability and a fairly stiff learning curve. You will grow bored with the radio long before you outgrow it's abilities. A bit like buying a new cell phone.

I really liked the feel of the DX6 I used but I'm fairly certain I'm just going to jump on the QX7 this week. I know the X9 plus is $187 at RMRC so maybe if the QX7 is out of stock ill just get the X9. I guess one question I had is. I didn't see anyone compare the quality of the antenna compared to the X9 I know I have seen posts about the stock X9 one is kinda weak.

Project Blue Falcon well it does not come with a battery anymore. i got it with one of the big frsky receivers. Now it's for sale even without receiver or battery. I love that your going to make a playlist for this radio. the most videos you made of the x9 can be used with the x7. I live in Europe and the thing I missed was flashing the internal xjt module in your previous videos. I already did, but I had to search for that. also it comes with open tx 2.2. don't exactly know witch RC. I only can't bind D8 protocol. but it shows in the bind menu. on my x9 I could. I also want to flash opentx 2.2 RC 11. but can't find older versions in companion. it only looks for the newest version. maybe some things you could cover in your upcoming videos? keep up the good work.

Why would you want to compare it with evo? They are different radios and what is better highly depends on your application. BTW there are rumors that frsky is working on evo style radio. I think that they could be true since there is high demand for evo.
