set your failsafe to custom then set it to go into just below hover throttle and then have it switch into angle mode and armed so when you DO hit failsafe it will level off and slowly come down.... surprised not more people do this, racing drone or not

You should be able to set up a custom fail safe and low hover like you explained with the throttle. But you should also be able to set your self level toggle switch to activate as well doing the same method as your throttle set. That way you get auto acro AND hover land on fail safe.

You say dig a hole to China but in actuality if it lands upside down and the motors can't turn they burn up correct?

Can you not set angle mode to one of the AUX channel, and failsafe the AUX to angle mode, then land gradually. That sounds better than drop, especially if high above ground.

I was flying a bigger quad that I have in a park when I lost my signal for a split second. The failsafe kicked in and the quad shut down, followed shortly by a rapid unscheduled disassembly. Fortunately, I was able to rebuild the quad and it hadn't happened again since. I blame all the people living around the park I was flying at, blasting their 2.4 GHz WiFi out at full strength.

I've got my TBS Disco at up with Naza 2 to RTH. What settings do I have the radio on to get rid of the start up fail safe screen? Love your vids, just found them recently.

Can't the failsafe change the flight mode to autolevel and then try to land/hover?

and also the "land" option could simply check the Z axis acceleration I guess.

I thought this too: surely in "custom" mode you can set the mode channel to select self-level. If the flight controller has a barometer, I imagine in theory that could also be used with the gyro to land nicely.

Thanks JC, Good Video. Your're really knocking them out... I've got two quads that I can't get failsafe to work (Drop). They both have the transmitter signal wire moved to URAT 1/2 Rx in order to get iBus on the Evolution. They both have the TGY-iA6C receiver. Have you had any issues? Thanks for all the hard work!!!!!!

So no pulse is the best option `? It will stop the motors and just drop like it is in betaflight chosen? :)

I'd say it's the best option for racing and freestyling where you are using Acro flight mode. And yep when you lose signal the motors will stop and it just drops. Sounds like it could break something but it's a better option than the motors staying on and it flipping to its death then digging a hole in the ground.

If I'm using with f550 flange wheel has a NAZA FC with GPS. Naza handles fail safe, so what do I set x7 failsafe to?

I have my failsafe at 1000 .. I got a failsafe for the first time the other day .. I hit my switch to Horizon mode .. and as soon as Telemetry recovered .. I was already raising the throttle .. this was able to save my butt .. I don't know just another idea

hi i am using x4rsb with naza m lite and non of the fail safe is working when i shut down the tx the motor go full speed in any fail safe config u have any idea why its hepend?

niiiiice video...sooo now all I get when I turn it on is the SD card warning.. how do I get rid of that...I have not set any voice to it yet..in still learning how to download it to the card.plus my internet tripping.lol

3:54 It was my first day flying a freestyle fpv drone, then this happened to me. Somehow I was lucky because I was in horizon mode, but yes, I only recovered pieces of it. I had to watch it all happen. 😢
