First power on of the new 2019 Taranis X9D in Night Blue including crossfire support

I didn't see it at first on mine but the screen actually has a peel plastic they just didn't give us a tab to pull it off I ended up checking before putting on the tempered glass screen protector from ETHIX

Can't wait to see if crfr works. Only good thing about the 2019 I can see is the scroll wheel. I wonder if it would be better to buy the old one for the same price. Battery and charger included. I was surprised the 2019 is shipped with a case. On banggood it's listed without case.

Hey have been snooping the Tx market for a few months since I just have RTF radios and I am ready to take... full control. Sorry. But yeah straight away X9D+ seemed like a no-brainer, but then Horus X10 can be flagged as innapropriate for young audiences, but then QX7S is really just as good, then Jumper T16 cold've been THE best... but there's the controversy of their OpenTX-software-branch / FCC / FrSky blackmail OMG..... Ok.... Maybe... gut instincts were right... X9D+ (maybe SE) ... Now Boom ! 2019 edition ! ! Hooh !! I mean.... hopefully they haven't scuffed out the Crossfire .. like in QX7 / X10 .. or something .. ? You are the first and only video out right now i think !! Color is pretty sweet ! A rival for carbon fiber dip ! Is it dip or the plastic is this color? Thanks for showing ! Thyis may just be the one I hope they have only ADDED features though :)

Thanks for the comment I will be doing another video soon where I will try and get crossfire working. I purchased this tx coming over from Graupner at wanted the flexibility of the open source system. I know frsky and crossfire had some issues but being open source they need to sort it out. The reason I purchased this was for crossfire and will certainly be on the frsky voicing my opinion.

Hi Colin, firstly thanks for watching my video. I have my radio as well and it came with Firmware 2.2.3. Companion advised that 2.2.4 was available for upgrading and after re flashing it has now the Bricked the radio and the special version of the firmware is not available. So now my radio is dead for the time being. A bad start to a nice radio. Don't flash this new radio until you are sure it will work.

Hi strange mine came with 2.3 i made a backup of the radio before flashing. Which i have done and got crossfire working with 2.3 nightlys in my other video. I could possibly forward you a copy of my firmware to see if it helps. I would suggest 2.3 but do not fly on this as there are lots of little gremlins that need sorting

Hi. I think atm the companion is not supporting the new access radios yet, you need to flash with an sd card and get the firmware from frsky website. Only available is the internal rf module update to 1.1.3 atm so wouldn't even bother messing with. Atm the xm + didn't bind if you use 1.1.3 on internal module.

Yes you can download opentx from the opentx website and crossfire will work. You can see it working on another of my videos

Even the older X9Ds specified 2s batteries for use in the manuals but lots of people used 3s anyway. Are you saying 3s is impossible to use?

Hi, I am only going with the specifications from the website. It only has a 2s XH connector inside for the battery connector and only has a USB port to balance charge a 2S. I have not checked the specs of any electrical components yet

Hi there, unfortunately the newer models only support D16 and access protocols, there is no d8 or lr12 protocols any more

Hi Paul, just plug the usb in an the power light flashes to denote a balance charge
