I am reluctant to keep small rodents due to their short lifespans but to keep spiders I guess you really have to come to grips with them passing quickly. It is usually all I can do to tolerate the spiders that make their home in my basement, but nobody enjoys losing a pet.

He doesn't necessarily suffer like say a dog would, they don't have complex enough nervous systems to comprehend or really feel what suffering is, tarantulas are very instinctual animals with little thought process. However as we are humans and we try to relate to or make a connection to something, especially something you care about we regard it as suffering cause it is still uncomfortable to watch something in it's final moments.

Michelle Taylor Wow.... just wow. That tarantula was bred in captivity, you really think it would last a week in its natural habitat? He would die pretty quick, there is no predation in captivity and he gives them the best food, tarantulas always spend their time in burrows and small spaces, they wait for something to pass by and kill, they don’t hunt actively..... Do your research.

TheVoiceOfAwkward No tarantulas are poisonous. They are venomous. Also yes this one is venomous. There is no difference between wild caught tarantulas and pet tarantulas, they all still have their venom glands. Most Species are just not fatal to humans. Old word tend to have potent venom and can cause problems and some even fatal. The cobalt blue’s bite and venom is intense, that can last for days the pain but is not fatal to human unless allergic.

I was always afraid of spiders and their dead bodies were much worse for me.. I always felt even more disgust seeing a dead dry spider body hanging in its net. And this guy has completely changed my point of view, he makes me feel sorry for the poor dead thing..❤ He is stroking his legs with such tenderness! These vids are a real therapy for many people!
