Ive concluded that ive experienced some feelings of shame in being loud and expressive alongside my singing which i grew up loving more than anything. ive lost a lot of support for my own voice from within myself. This is super helpful, thank you!!
@hedreamt94552 жыл бұрын
me too, and that feeling being put into words just makes me feel so much more valid. i lost a lot of confidence with singing and i didn’t learn to support myself and even with the mental part which is 85% part of singing imo.

I’ve been losing my higher notes recently. I am a freshman in high school, and it might just be my voice changing, but I don't think it is anymore. I do not think that your voice changing would mean some days you can't sing, like some days I could not sing at all, I could talk but I couldn't sing and talking kind of hurt a little bit. This video has helped me, I suspected that it was the fact that I wasn't supporting my voice enough, and this has confirmed it. My first teacher Mrs. Dolittle, had the same issue, I suspect that is why I had the same issue because I never learned properly to begin with so it became a habit.

Thanks for the video!!! I get very frustrated when I attempt to sing in a high register and I immediately feel how everything is coming from my throat, not necessarily "powerful" notes, just higher than the usual :( for example, "Tattoed heart" from Ariana Grande, the whole song is very hard for me! I struggle to sing using my chest voice and not strain my throat... I don't know if I just should not attempt to sing those high notes! I can sing it but only with head voice and falsetto and I don't like how it sounds. Can you make a video about how to know when we've reached our limit? Like when it's safe to keep pushing/trying and when we should stop🤔

I really wish I could stop straining it doesn’t matter how hard I try I just can’t stop, since I was young I always tightened my throat when singing, is just so frustrating not being able to use your voice as it is people always tell me that I have a beautiful voice and that I just have to “free it” BUT I JUST CANT it’s gotten better but is never gone. And I’m so tired of it, it really destroys my confidence I even cry sometimes 😂😂

Hi Tara, I love your videos!! I have a quick question, I love singing I enjoy it probably more than anything. So I was practicing one day and singing high notes and idk I must have been doing it with bad technique or smtg, the next day my throat was sore and it worsened over the next couple of days. I thought it was gonna get better it didn't for over 7 months now. I feel pain and discomfort when I sing, even when I talk. The pain goes all the way to my chest and my chins when it's worse. It showed some improvement after months but I started singing and doing exercises and it happened again. I guess I didn't recover fully. So what do you suggest I do to recover from this Any advice will super helpful please?
