My dad and Uncle Max were in the National Guard and my mom told me that if the war had not taken a turn for the better they both would have gone over. But things got better and they didn't have to go so l can thank all those brave men and women that gave the greatest sacrifice for my and my brothers existence. 1323p0

My uncle Jose C Garcia was a Marine here. My mother his youngest sister would ask him how he hid from the Japanese he would always say..WHERE EVER THERE WAS TWO BLADES OF GRASS I HID BEHIND THEM! Jokingly of course. He made it back home safely and lived a good long life. He's gone now but my mother who is 93 always remembers him telling her that.

Patrick, thanks for reminding us that those men and boys had no "safe spaces". Semper Fi.

I had the opportunity to visit there in 2017, and as a Marine in my earlier days this place holds special meaning. Thank you for the video. Only critique is that the number of Korean conscripts and Japanese troops is incorrect. Also I believe the tank seen accidentally drove into a shell crater and became disabled. Glad you were able to visit and honor those who gave their lives. Semper Fi
