Lindsey simply didn't care. Winning was less important to her than the chance to design and launch her own product. Her ambitions were that something she came up with could go places out of the confines of the show. Her teammates were irrelevant to her (it is a dog-eat-dog environment after all). Paul didn't have any real experience or talent. God knows why he ended up on the show (thin on applicants that year??). In the boardroom he was just trying to save his skin as best he could.

I don't think it's 'snake in the grass' at all. If two of my employees are in a relationship I'm happy for them and wish them the best. If part of their relationship involves bunking off, ignoring their work or reinforcing each others' bad decisions to the prejudice of other employees then of course it's an issue that management has to address.

if your looking for the army's finest, don't look for it at the officer school, the best come from the ranks from promotions, also look at the para's,SAS, Royal Marines and SBS for the best. most officers who come straight out of officer school are useless, just good for barking simple orders, or repeating better orders from more skilled men. you need to look for actual battle experience for real talent.
