To try and reduce our average speed on a stage, and to slow down dangerous areas of some stages, they introduced speed reduction zones where we have to spend 20 seconds inside a 400m zone. Years ago they used physical chicanes for a similar thing which actually caused a few crashes.

I drive that road faster than that just to get to work on time. Bit more practice and you'll get there.Sorry about the restrictions and short race this year :( Motor racing is a blood sport, everyone who participates knows the risks, especially after last year. Harden up, princess. Hope they don't cancel next year.

@@improvedae86 These restrictions were implemented as 3 competitors lost there lives last year. unfortunately despite these restrictions another driver died this year. I can only assume you did not know this, as to call it a "a joke" with that knowledge would be extremely disrespectful and disappointing

@@joeltmo So they restricted the speed and didn't think of employing ROPS of a higher level ? Looking at the amount of cars crashed over the first 2.30 of that stage maybe a re-think of the SAFETY level in the cars needs to be addressed. But the issue is there that nobody is going to want to cut up and drill holes everywhere in there hundreds of thousand dollar cars. For example no idea how if you attempted to follow current FIA WRC regulations on driver to door bar distances of 380mm+ you going to do that in some old Datsun or Nissan. Regardless or passed death's nothing was actually implemented to improved safety just like for example 3D Sports Sedan still have the ROPS finishing at the window line and need no actual approved safety cage below the window. Crazy given there non sealed and measured 7 litre Nascar engines and over 300kph speed. 200KPH there is still no way a human can survive the impact G once the vehicle comes to a sudden stop on a hundreds of years old gum tree or rock face at the side of the none barrier covered road side.
