Targa Trix 15-inch woofer unboxed.

A quick look at one of Targa's latest offerings... Targa Trix 15 D2.
This woofer is aimed at people like myself, who love that really low notes.
This woofer is available in both D1 and D2 and costs around R6500.00 each, depending on the area. Some places are more expensive as the shipping bill of these woofers isn't exactly cheap.
I can't tell you when, but we will be putting this to the test soon, and I'm sure they will sound as great as it looks.

I know a lot of the comments compare this to a Sundown woofer, but if you had to compare the build of the Trix to an international brand/model, what would it most closely resemble? I know a lot of our local brands like to rip off the designs of the reputable guys and even get built in the same factories, albeit with lesser quality soft parts

I think trix is a game changer. I am a fan of Rambo 121. And one Rambo can rattle my car really hard. Imagine if I can pair two rambos or two Trix?

I actually want to buy this sub, problem is that I want to design the box beforehand but i can't find the manual, for the ts parameters for the sub. Or any Targa sub for that matter. Did you fint the manual while unboxing it?

For anyone wishing to get an idea of the true RMS of Targa subs, divide the factory RMS rating by 3 and round to the nearest thousand. The Targa Hooligan is rated for 17000W by Targa, but 17000 divided by 3 = 5666. Rounding that up, we can say the Targa Hooligan should handle a maximum of 6000 RMS in SPL. This Targa Trix should handle a maximum of 5000W in SPL (rounded down from 5333). 👍👍

@@alexgamerdaboy Really man, it can handle up to 6k rms, but that would be the maximum, otherwise it'd blow. Have you seen the Targa Hooligan? The motor can easily deliver that kind of power, plus it has a 4 inch voice coil, which is an inch bigger than other competition subwoofers.

@@alexgamerdaboy Bro, there's a difference between power handling and maximum power. If you put 5k rms into the sub at full blast, then yes you're gonna have a problem. But if you put 5k into it for 10 seconds in SPL, I'm sure it'll survive. By the way, Sundown has 12s that can definitely handle more than 2500 rms. One of their 15s took 16000 rms and didn't even smoke. The Sundown Nightshade 12 inch has a 3000 rms power handling. POWER HANDLING, not even max power. That means you can play it on 3000 rms every day and it won't even struggle. That's also the reason this sub costs R7000 and a Sundown 15 costs R17000

Down4Sound even describes 3000 rms as "very conservative" for that sub. It's gonna take a helluva lot more than 2500watts to kill a sundown sub 😂😂
