Can testify your review of the Weatherby Element is 100% accurate, pros and cons i own it in 12 and 20 gauge, got them "used" for $1300 shipped and transfered. The 20 gauge is a dream to shoot, and the 12 gauge is still very managble. The quirks like the difficult trigger pin you have to hammer out and on both models, and the allen screw in the stock needs a lock tight treatment, but the ergos are amazing they drop birds. I might get a gas powered 12 for even lighter recoil, but the 20 is perfect. When are you reviewing the Sorix?

10 years of shooting a franchi. Agree 100 percent. Watched a lot of guns fail during duck season. Franchi has always run good even in the worse conditions.

I have only shot one once and it was briefly but the Beretta A400 Xplorer in 20 gauge was one of the best shooting light shotguns I have ever shot. It pointed like a target gun while being under 7 lbs. That could have been my subjective experience but i still look at it longingly every time i see one.

Great job Steve !! Looking forward to next year. Specifically, #1 the CZ Redhead (All Terrain) , the over under for water fowlers #2 the Weatherby Sorix and 3rd the Weatherby Orion SXS. Stay Target Focused ! jmp

Very awesome and interesting video! Do you have a video comparing the uses of a semi auto compared to an over under for certain shooting needs!? Perhaps I'm just too lazy to scroll through your archive of videos...just wondering and keep it up!

Steve, I bought my dad a Mossberg 940 Waterfowl for Christmas after watching your channel. After 22 rounds the trigger died and the safety locked up in the fire position. He’s gonna send it back to Mossberg. It also had cycling issues with target loads. I am also in the market for a shotgun, I will probably buy myself a Beretta

For me the 2024 Stoeger M3500 is the best semi-auto shotgun for both water foul and Turkey hunting.
@joshuaearnheart275611 сағат бұрын
I had one. Was very very hard on that gun. It always ran. Never a shell it wouldn’t shoot. They’re just big. And I’m a smaller guy. But it was good enough my brother bought one and so did a buddy of mine. Mine ended up getting stolen and I replaced it with a retay Masai Mara and I like that gun a lot. Much more sleek and it shoots straight. Hard to explain really but my percentages have increased exponentially. It’s nothing for me to kill 15 dove in 17 or 18 shots. 6 ducks in 8-10 shots. The guys who hunt with us are always surprised when me and my brother have our limit and they have 2-3 birds and we’re unloaded just calling birds for them.

Sleeping on the stoeger m3500 for the budget. Picked mine up for 600$ in bottomland camo I’ve shot over 300 shells all different loads never had a malfunction, lightweight and has decent patterns with stock chokes. Highly recommend for anyone just getting into waterfowl hunting or someone who doesn’t want to break the bank for an inertia driven shotty
@chevyon37s7 сағат бұрын
Stoegers are turds. Just Benelli copies made with inferior parts, so while they may run good for a while… they will fail. Those inferior parts wear out quick. And 300rds is nothing. Report back when it’s got 10k+ rounds and is 15 years old, if it last that long.

Best upland is Benelli Ethos Upland Performance Shop...my son and I both now have one in 12 gauge...a dream to shoot. I ordered a Browning A5 20 gauge. Wanted to spend less $ but didn't love the price for the features of the original ethos. Hopefully I don't regret that when I get it.

Man. I can't believe how much Benelli was not on here. SBE3 in 20ga for upland... light and reliable, can be found on sale for a very reasonable price. Just picked up a cerekote/camo one for $1600 out the door. And it's very adjustable.

@1011-n3t13 сағат бұрын
Fair warning for those thinking about a bretta for waterfowl, flight control and bretta barrels do not mix well. I have only witness a barrel bulge with mod choke on a a400 compared to multiple different brands that have the same setup.

I have a sbe2 for waterfowl but I hate the nonsense having to shoot under the bird and how to allow for a bird flying that to or fro. I tried a Beretta a400 and hated the safety and along with many other guns I have tried, have a cant to the side when I shoulder it. I recently purchased Rem 11-87. My eye is lined perfect down the barrel when I shoulder it and it shoots where sighted. It weighs almost 8 lbs is the only draw back. I tried the Mossberg , a front heavy gun, short stock and questionable quality wasn't for me. Do any of the guns you tried shoot reloads? Benelli - no. Others ????

When Rem Arms re-releases the Remington Versa Max I'll be curious to watch a reliability test showing how heavy and light of loads it can cycle verses the competition. You won't find a 2 3/4 shell it won't cycle.
@ColtonRobinson-ej4xr7 сағат бұрын
The remington V3 is the same thing, isn't it? I believe it's just a more cost-effective model of the versa-max..
@NicholasVonBusch7 сағат бұрын
@ColtonRobinson-ej4xr no it's a different design. It's got similar qualities but the V3 only handles up to 3 inch shells. The Versa Max will fire 3 1/2 to 2 3/4 shells of any power load. I've shot low recoil Winchester AA rounds meant for pump action guns with zero feeding issues.

All purpose and upland. Any shotgun that ranks good in either of those categories will be right at home on a dove hunt. Even waterfowl guns will be fine

As good as the SBE 3 is, at this point in time there are plenty of better options at the price point. I moved from an sbe 3 to a Maxus 2 and I would never go back- now maybe the sbe 2 back when that was in production, I would put that at the top, however times have changed!

My favorite shotgun channel. But I’m a little disappointed you listed the Retay so high. I watched your videos where they didn’t feed well. If they have a longer break in , that’s fine. But how does a gun that finicky rank # 1 at anything? I hope they aren’t financially Supporting the channel and skewing the results. I’m hoping I’m watching 100% honest reviewing 🤷🏼♂️
@TiredAmerican24714 сағат бұрын
My Remington 870 pump action I bought for less than $500 has killed many birds with no failures. What’s this stuff about buying shotguns over $1000 dollars? It’s not a rifle. I find it really hard to spend that much for a shotgun. These reviews gotta be based on what manufacturer sent this guy free guns to review.
@AppalachianRancher14 сағат бұрын
I'm the opposite why spend over a 1000 for a rifle no reason for it they may get shot 400 or 500 times maybe 1000 rounds through a hunting rifle in the average hunters life. I shoot 400 rounds through my clay gun easily a month sometimes double that. In a year I'm shooting 5k plus easily so the shotgun need to survive a lot of shells through it compared to my hunting rifles.
@Misfit5W14 сағат бұрын
My cheapest shotgun was 60 bucks 😂 my most expensive is like 1600. I love em all, they all got their place.
@lukea280613 сағат бұрын
870s are great, but it’s a hell of a lot easier to double on birds with an autoloader and the reduction in recoil is something you end up not wanting to hunt without once you get used to it as well. Got my bell rung by a turkey load with my 870 when shooting from an awkward position once and found myself flinching from that point on. I now shoot a beretta a300 ultima which is technically a $1,000 gun at MSRP but I got mine on sale from bass pro at $625. It’s like shooting a pellet gun. It’s really just one of those things you don’t realize the difference in until you try it out.
