Scott, great work on them stud bluegills! You're my favorite youtube channel to watch. I'm from the metro area but want to live in Northern MN when I'm done at college

I appreciate how quick you get the fish measured weighed and get a picture and then release them

I've found the biggest crapping & bluegills in deep (4 + feet up to 12 feet) shaded stoney bottomed holes in the tributaries not out on the lake as much. I think the lack of shade does it, but if there are big weed beds near by a stoney bottom on the lake, you never know? Your making me want to make some hot & spicy fried fish burritos. Yes ,breaded & fried. I use a egg bath & Italian bread crumbs mixed with some corn flour & jiffy mix or flour. Chunked fillets ,bathed, breaded & pan fried & seasoned. I put the Louisiana hot sauce right over the fish on the heated soft mission wrap & roll it up with some chopped lettuce & choice of shredded cheeses. Good stuff man when your hungry for fish, but want something different. It's more work, but if you have few fish or big numbers to feed or want refidgeratable left overs to reheat & roll up,you can boil them de scaled, skin on & gutted & remove the bones ,drain & save that water for fish gumbo or make a really fishy hot sauce. Now mix the fish meat with raw beaten egg & dump in the bread crumb flour mix & stir until thick & just good & moist, now pan fry with a greased pan & chop up with a plastic spatula & lay on the wraps, cheese hot sauce & roll. Any fish works ,but I think Northern pike are the best.

It's 11O° here in Arkansas and you're wearing a hoodie in Minnesota. I'd like to spend a summer up there some day.

12" bluegills can run 2lbs ,but that is only 1 pound of eating if your real good at cleaning & how you cook them. Hint? We call them pan fish for a reason.

They can but that would be a state record anywheres unless your in Arizona

@@330ManiacReally? I sure wish we or our parents had known? I pulled that clunker from Sandy Creek ,Hamlin ,N.Y.14464 1976? I think i was 11 or 12,im 59 now. I was kid, thought it kind of puny compared to the pike & lake trout i caught there,as well as the 16.5" crappie i got on same day, same place , "secrect hole!" My youthful ignorance i guess. Sure wish i had known, Dennis & cleaned & ate them both? "RIOT!" Thats why Dennis was so excited? I just didnt think much of it? I done it before, you have to really hike far & get away from the bridges where the over fishing goes on. Half these streams cant even be canoed very well, if your legs are aching, you know you found that secret deep hole. Damn,i wish id known?

Just another wave or T.S. I guess. Some of you guys make me wonder? Who else throws stuff like toasted hot fish burritos back in the water? You could tell by the toss that "opps, I've got too many of those already?

I would guide you, to these perfect deep water holes that are in every stream in every state & hold those state records for the common good of getting those predators out of the water! I'm very respectful & dont disagree or argue with you. Your right, they would be state records & they are in nearly every stream in America ,but most people cant tolerate the athletic drain, heat, sunburn, mosquitoes, deer & horse fies, aggressive snakes & nut job property owners who think they own the stream & fish in it and will even threaten children with fire arms. I have a 12 foot American Jon boat that will float in as little as 3" or so of water, some of us are a bit worn after a lifetime of over activity & dont hike so well anymore. Trust be buddy on this 1, light gear is the only way too go,bring water & save time & leave the beaver fever in the stream & what your looking for is (Walmart- repell) the biggest can of atleast 40% deet insect repellent & bring it with you unless you like slapping sun burn due to sweat off! The best panfishing goes on in these stoney ,sandy & slab bedrock bottoned stream holes on scorching hot sunny days in late afternoon when the shadows & shade start to cover the water along with the droves mosquitoes & other insects. " Its unpleasant enough to make you not want to go!" If the heat & humidity bring on a decent brief rain shower at that stated time (3pm -6pm) it's going to get really wild out there & cause a feeding frenzy as these well knowing fish take full advantage of the insects knocked down on the water & washed off of weeds & leaves. That's what happened to Dennis & I when it got really ugly with lighting out there & we had to cut it short, abort the mission & sprint back with stringers loaded dragging he hind us with just 60 fish ,there was rumor that a tornado touch down near by(no limit on pans) not 1 less than 10", we threw those little ones back. When we weren't hiking streams & fishing we on foot ball fields & cross country coarses competing. So honestly,it not for the meek at heart, but that's why those over sized & over populated fish are there!
