I'm targeting monster hybrid below the spill way. I find hybrid, white bass, smallmouth bass, channel catfish and crappie.

For whatever reason, smallmouth love to swim directly under the boat when you crank them in. I noticed that myself on Boone Lake a few years ago.

Me my uncle and Charles Williams went down to Boone lake I think it was Saturday? We all got out 2 limit of hybrids lol I've never fished for them but we were going for striper but caught damn big hybrids I didn't know they fought that hard LOl I live in brumley gap Abingdon va I'm addicted and want to get back to Boone hahaha

Nice video, I sure do miss hybrids. NC quit stock hybrid like they used to in any flow that flows into the atlantic. a few are stocked but not many. Biggest I ever got was 13lb 11 oz and 30 inchs long. miss them alot.

Is it safe to eat the catfish out of the Holsten in the Rogersville area? Sorry if its a dumb question im new to fishing.

Hey, not a dumb question. There are signs up saying that there is mercury poisoning in the fish. So I personally wouldn’t eat them, but if you do limited to 2 per month. That’s the standard guideline, the TWRA put out.

Just a couple more weeks and they should be running in indiana. My pb whiper is just over 9 pounds. I always use jerk baits and soft plastic swim baits. When the whipers are running here you can always catch whipers, walleye, sauger/saugeye, small mouth, and skipjack. So I use baits that catch them all

Great video. I took my kayaks up there last year in May. I have a 15ft Jon boat also and was wondering if water was up enough yet to make it up there with that safely? And if so which side of river would you recommend going up river (depth wise)? Thanks!

At the moment, the water was very low last time I was there. You may be able to pull it off with a Jon boat. I typically aim toward the middle of the river when I’m going up. There are a couple of Shoals you need to look out for.

@@xlucim 3-4 ft. Sometime very shallow. I scrapped the bottom with the kayak near the spillway in the middle. Just be careful.

I’m not sure what the spillway is called, but it is right above the John severe boat ramp. So probably. Every spring it is amazing.
