Nat, I agree with you on two points. Truth is important - and my friend Jonasz did a great job interviewing my friend & writing colleague Col. Jon Sweet, U.S. Army (ret.). For the record, however, Jon never claimed HIMARS had not been destroyed. He simply was narrowly commenting on how Ukraine has used Patriots (and not HIMARS; they are two different weapon systems). As such, Jonasz didn't "correct," Jon. Rather, to Jonasz's great credit, he simply expanded the overall discussion by pointing out Ukraine's strategy of pushing air defense assets forward does comes with risk as evidenced by the loss of some HIMARS - to which Jon readily agreed. Bombarding a city is nothing new to Russia. During WW2, The German 6th Army surrounded Stalingrad. Before they entered, Hitler ordered the city RAZED,(Because it was named after Stalin). German 6th Army Grid bombed Stalingrad daily with Artillery. German air power was used during the siege of the city. So, looks like Russia learned this strategy from prior war.

Forgive me, I'm not criticizing Ukraine, but I'm amazed that their draft age is so much higher than ours (the US) was. We had the draft age as 18-- for the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam. 18 year old Americans still have to register for the draft (even though it is not activated). Given the manpower shortage, why wouldn't Ukraine do the same?
