Not sure why he seems to be dropping out of the lottery, but he’s one of the players that i want the NYK’s to draft he’s the type of long multi positional players that we need to be looking at. His offense will only get better. I’m not concerned about what he can’t do right now, but what he can do is quite impressive👍🏾

Ultimately, it is because his game does not translate super well to the NBA. You see a guy like him with no left hand, no court vision, and very loose control, and you have a recipe for a guy who is going to be a perennial G-League All-star. To make it in the NBA, you have to be able to beat soft double teams. That means you need a tight handle with both hands, the ability to move the ball, and/or the ability to reject the double team by pulling up and shooting. Eason currently has not shown the ability to do any of those things. I don't see that developing. Defensively, I don't find him compelling. His balance is ok. I think NBA guys with more skill will be able to take advantage of that. He will still be a great digger and be able to play the passing lanes, but I don't particularly buy that he is a set and forget lockdown defender. His hips get turned too much and he takes a few too many steps when trying to change directions on closeouts. Good team defender, definitely, but with his offensive shortcomings, he needs to be the whole package to get minutes.

Eason would be a 3 and Pat would be a 4. I'm honestly hoping the bulls draft him tomorrow. A few young, high-ceiling guys would extend our window a lot. I also think he could be a solid contributer defensively almost immediately. He's got that Toronto-style size and switchability that makes good modern defenses. Pat's biggest defensive weakness is he isn't quick laterally, so he struggles in isolation against most guards. Eason has that same size but is quick enough to hang with them.
