Thank you Andrea for pursuing the history of fleece and knitting. Please don’t stop! May God bless you with peace as you are walking through this difficult season together with your daughter. I see her dad’s smile in her lovely face. Well done Andrea.

Having visited Tarndie I can certainly attest to how fabulous it is to have the opportunity to see a farm like this in operation. What a wonderful family they are as charming and generous hosts too! The items I have knitted with their Polwarth are fantastic!

Sorry to bombard you but I am LOVING this podcast and I can't believe I didn't know about it. Thanks heaps, and can't wait to watch more. I wasn't into podcasts and have recently gotten hooked. When Beautiful Knitters on Instragram asked me to be featured, I had to list what my new favourite thing was and oh wow, it's podcasts. I wish I had seen yours before writing my answers but thanks so much for the time and effort and fantastic structure to your podcasts. It really makes the time watching worthwhile. Lu x

Thank you so much Andrea for this amazing interview with Tom! I've been living in Geelong, Victoria Australia, for 9 years and it was so good to hear about those places which are familiar to me! I've done the Great Ocean Road twice and love it; I've will definitely visit Tarndie on my next trip there! I wish all the best to Madeleine and well done Andrew for this beautiful gift for your mum! Keep on the great work and I hope to be able to help you one day!

Hi Sherley. Great to hear that you're "local" to Tarndie! It's such a long time since we've been out that way. I used to stop in Colac on my way to the Port Fairy Folk Festival - fish and chips, was a great ritual. Miss that area a lot. Cheers, A + A.

Thank you for introducing Sidney through the Knitters of the World. I assure she is even more delightful and fascinating in person. We were so sad when she left Oregon to study in New York. But she works at Purl Soho in Manhattan now so you can stop in to say hello. And her tats are absolutely amazing

Thank you Andrew and Andrea and Dennis!! As a knitter and fibre lover this story really struck home. How fortunate we are to have these families hang in there and find a way to supply us with the fibres we love. Have just used a yarn supplied by one of my local yarn shops; "Fibrations- Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada" that contained Polwarth fibre and this episode has enhanced my appreciation of the unique properties of the wool. Right back to the source. All the best to Denis and his extended family in their ongoing work. He hit the nail on the head with his characterization of "adaptation"!!! Your podcast is bringing us such an in-depth knowledge and appreciation for our art/craft. Thanks so much. Lovely to see Madeline and all the best on those "orals"!!! I am assuming they are behind you as I write and I'm certain you aced them. Pretty heavy analysis and I can see your parents pride in your work. BRAVO!!!! Hope you are healing Andrea and you are clearly making the best of the situation with your sewing results!!! Regards, Roxanne.

Just loved the Tarndie story so much. It reminds us as knitters to think of the story behind our yarn. So interesting to hear that the original flock of Saxon Merinos came from Tasmania where I live.

Great episode, thank you Andrea and Andrew. The interview with Tom was really interesting. I particularly appreciated his explanation of the Indigenous language of the region and the connection with the name of his farm. I live near Bega, NSW (Yuin country), and it always gladdens my heart to hear acknowledgement of the ancient culture of our land, and it's first peoples.

Thanks for keeping the bit in about how they're managing the grazing. He didn't mention this but that approach is also great for addressing global climate change as well as for improving biodiversity (see Biodiversity for a Livable Climate if you're interested in all that) . I'm now even more thrilled to be processing, spinning and knitting with Tarndie Polwarth, which is perhaps my most favorite fiber to work with! Great interview!

I've only just come across it and I can't wait to see more. I'm looking forward to the Bendigo Sheep & Wool Show where I get to see Tom and the Tarndie stall each year.
