These types of vids are awesome. Takes a complex topic like spherical linear interpolation and makes it super easy to understand. Can't wait to see more!
@lanchanoinguyen29143 ай бұрын
lol i can write that formula in one line of code,people who are not familiar with math would see this is complex but it's not.Interpolation is a cool simple operation.Now linear or exponent rate of change depends on your need,it affect the coefficient and that is,we shouldn't be limited by only two type.

Long ago, the hobbyist and indie game developers lived together in harmony. Then, everything changed when Brackeys retired. Only the him, master of unity, could stop them, but when the internet needed him most, he vanished. A few months passed and youtube and reddit discovered the new Brackeys, a youtuber named Tarodev.

Brackeys was the man! But things seem better since he's retired. He left a vacuum, which was filled by many awesome Unity game devs on YT. And TaroDev is one of those that the algorithm has blessed me with recently :)

Mandelbrot said in math, he could read a formula and automatically see the curve in his head, a unique talent that enabled his mathematical genius. Dude I have been doing software development for over 15 years, wrote some super sophisticated tooling for large enterprises, and even though I've dipped into game development in my spare time and have a very basic understanding of the core concepts I still have no fucking clue what this guy tried to shove into my brain. Neat visuals, I get that Lerp is straight and Slerp is not, but holy fuck did I miss every bit after that.

@double-lung73642 жыл бұрын
Just to add something After getting the initial "centerPivot" vector, we need to find a vector perpendicular to "centerPivot" and use it as the final "centerPivot" if the start and end points are not on a horizontal line as shown in the video.

I'm almost crying. I needed this for my previous project aaaaaa. I had done some real complex shenanigans to try and get a lerp to not pass over the centre object, I could have been using slerp! Nooooooo! Okay, I might return to that project and crack it open for a bit., see what slerp can do for me.
