I have been struggling for almost 2 years with pain in my elbows and shoulders. I have CRPS, fibromyalgia as well as lupus. I have spoke with my pain doctors, orthopedic surgeons, as well as my general practitioner. None of them gave me any guidance other than invasive tests that didn’t prove anything or help me. I haven’t able to lift my left shoulder above the leveling point without pain for those two years until I did these short exercises that you provided. I will continue to do these as well as look at your future videos! Thank you🤗

During the video I was asking myself how this could help, as I had the feeling we “didn’t do much” and that it was always the same motions. But miraculously, after the video now my shoulder feels tingly and cool and somewhat “lighter”! @TaroIwamoto3 жыл бұрын
@@jennifercandace1 did you sleep on your right side? if this tingling is new (you never had this symptom before) and persists for days with no improvements, it might be a good idea to consult with your doctor. Tingling in arm often comes from compression or overstretching of nerve(s) which is affected by neck position. sometimes it happens when you sleep on your side with your arm overstretched, or neck not supported well.

I practice a form of kung fu and we draw power from the upper dan tien, a region just above the navel. In our 'internal' practice we are often making these imaginary connections between elbow, wrist, fist or finger tip and dan tien. These excercises prove that the relationship is whilst subtle, infact not imaginary, but very real and can be experienced in a short period. Thankyou.

Good evening Taro. Your videos popped up in my feed last night and I decided to search specifically for your shoulder movement videos. I just did this one and also subscribed. Being new to your channel, I'm a bit confused about whether these are actually some sort of exercise to aid in healing pain or if you are simply trying to help us learn how to move our bodies in a way that will help prevent injury (even unknown injuries). I was diagnosed with frozen shoulder a couple months go. My research indicates a 6 month to 2 year healing time. Ugh!!! Do you have any specific arm/shoulder movement recommendations for frozen shoulder (no known injury)? Thank you for offering your expertise to help others. The orthopedic doctor provided no exercise or movement suggestions, but did suggest steroid injection which I refused. He offered me celebrex which I did take for 1 month, but did not refill. I have been taking curamin (OTC supplement) and recently started taking berberine. I don't think I will be able to put up with the excruciating shoulder and arm pain much longer. Any suggestions from your point of view? Thank you again.
@TaroIwamoto2 жыл бұрын
Most my videos are mainly focusing on retraining the nervous system and movement patterns including this. This retraining exercise can teach your nervous system how to move more efficiently to improve functions. This one helps you learn how to connect your arm/shoulder with your chest, spine, pelvis so they can function together. I have many videos under Improve Shoulder and Neck Playlist. A key for any conditions is better coordination and integration so you don't stress the injured areas.

Hi Sandy - I'm someone who had two frozen shoulders. I adore Feldenkrais, however I hope Tawo doesn't mind if I just say mine was cured in a couple of weeks just doing the stretch where you put your bad arm across your chest (while standing) and draw it gently to you with the other, keeping it straight. I think it released a lot of tension across the back of the shoulder. Anyway, best of luck & Feldenkrais is the best!! x

Hello, is it normal to have a very strong reaction to these kind of exercises?. So far I have done two times the sternum video before going to get adjusted by a chiropractor. Both times my neck got very tense on the right side (that's where I got most of my issues), on both times, the chiropractor could not adjust C1/C2, they get locked after the sternum exercises. But I have also try others exercises (4) and all of them make such a shock to my body (the only one that lockes my upper cervical is the sternum one) but they do tense my neck on the side I preform the exercise. I do meditate every day, so when you asked to make the connection (awareness) of the parts of the spine, it is very easy for me. Is this normal?.

@TaroIwamoto3 жыл бұрын
I cant tell you if that is normal. I can only tell you that that is what you experience. I can only guess what might be happening. My guess is that you are moving either too much or too fast or both. Inviting the sternum/ chest to turn and head to move with your chest should reduce effort in your neck, not increase, unless you are doing too much, in which case, the nervous system will react by incteasing tension. Thats my guess. I dont focus on range of movement. i focus on quality of movement that includes your breathing. Your breathing reflects the state of the nervous system. this is true for any exercises and activities you do. This is why I keep reminding people to move very very slowly through a small range and pay attention your body and sensations.
@luyzqint37603 жыл бұрын
@@TaroIwamoto Thank you for your response. I take about 10 seconds for the movement, but I might be doing it too much. Just to make sure, I am not complaining, on the contraire, I am very surprised how much impact this makes on my body. I can literally feel my whole spine little by little have some sort of, adjustment?. But the one that I am not going to do before seeing the chiropractor next time, would be the sternum one. I will do it afterwards, and see how my body reacts to it. I always listen to my body. Once again, Gracias ✌️
