Cracking spot Adrian, a lovely part of the Cheviots. Always a nice chilled out vid from you, the way camping should be. That filter meter is a cracking idea, just to double check what you’re actually drinking! I’m shocked about your sleeping bag , a lesson learned there, I certainly won’t be hanging mine out to dry lol. Cheers fella, Atb Dave.

Hi Dave, thanks for watching, Yes it’s a great area of the Cheviots probably one of my favourites, did you see the video on the water tester I must check, handy bit of kit, but that pure clear is the best, results speak, Keep your bag off a hot line for sure, Rab repair not cheap but hopefully spot on Cheers Adrian

Have you tried using Bungees all round to secure the tarp?
@northumberlandmountainhopper2 ай бұрын
Hi mick, yes the old string line, and the pegs grip better !!!! Lesson learned and payed for, Bungees ? No but I have considered some elastic shock cord, May try it, only benifit I feel would be tear prevention, it would still blow Cheers Adrian

Try a tarp tent Adrian solid as a rock and still have the views cracking camp mate i'll be glad when the midges are gone atvb jimmy 😎😎👍👍
@northumberlandmountainhopper2 ай бұрын
Hi Jimmy, thanks for watching, I may try one on a top, but you only see out of one side, I think the star configuration is near enough wind proof it just flaps !! I may give it another go No midges this time, windy and they knew I had the jacket !! Cheers Adrian

Have you tried the pyramid tarp setup? Super strong in high winds. Thanks for showing/sharing about the clothes line 👍. Great video & pitch.
@northumberlandmountainhopper2 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching, no not set up as a tent but I have used it similar with one pole and 4 lines ( the other week, I did this) It still flaps a lot, mind tents are noisy as well, Plastic when hot and sleeping bag cover !!!!! Expensive error !!! Cheers Adrian

Hey Adrian, I'm working my way through the backlog of videos. You've sparked my desire to try bivy camping. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Hi Steven, thanks for watching, hope you enjoy the videos, watched a fair few of yours for sure, As for Tarps just get stuck in, pick a sheltered spot first, or a very small tarp for your head end if camped up high, Practice makes perfect Cheers Adrian

Hi and thanks for watching, fair comment, apart from this old bag,I now only buy Down gear that is ethically sourced I.e. Rab same as we buy free range eggs and sort out the best treated English meat So I do try, but down far beats synthetic insulation What’s your view on ethical down the down should be a by product. Cheers Adrian

RAB has been involved with the Responsible Down Standard for a long time and only uses RDS sourced down.
