Fantastic camp Chris, both parts. Food looked great and love the Swannie. Always a series of challenges in between the fun with camping!

Thanks mate, bit to work on but that's the fun of it all, that swannie is like my superpower clothing 😁, much needed out in that weather! Cheers my friend.

one of those festival trolleys might suit for transporting all the heavy gear
@northernembersoutdoors104511 ай бұрын
It really just wasn't the right place for me but I thought I would try it out, they did have wheel barrows to take loads in. The car I really wanted to store camera gear in and clothes etc as not to get damp, the space is limited and I had to have everything out but then put it in the swag overnight which I didn't plan on. Maybe I should get a bigger swag😊😊😊.

@northernembersoutdoors1045 the swag looks quite big, hand warmer in your camera bag might help
@northernembersoutdoors104511 ай бұрын
Nah it's not just the damp and rain it's the size of the gear, big stand to, I don't really want to leave everything sitting out in plain site under the tarp regardless, better luck next time me thinks👍👍😊😊😍😍

A fair few modern Aussie swags are elevated off the ground these days🇦🇺🏕️😎👍

Thanks Billy, aye I have seen some people plonk them right on top of camp beds, I just gave two camp beds away!, in hindsight I should of at least tried that first. The duck was awesome, many years since I had a duck stew, bit more liquid required but it was good. More tweaking required in general but it was a good camp. Saw the Scottish detectorist in the supermarket the other day, I didn't bother him but it was weird seeing someone I watch on youtube, all the best, cheers Chris

@@northernembersoutdoors1045 🤣👍 that’d have been weird seeing the Scottish detectorist anywhere other than a fallow/ ploughed/ corn stubble field 👍

Hope this helps.i have the exact same cool box as you us3d it and found it to be pretty rubbish...i seperated the two skins removed the crappy polystyrene inner panels and squirted spray foam inside put it back together .left overnight with some bricks on the lid...and now will keep food frozen for 4/5 days 😍👍

Thanks for the tip, I have found it a bit rubbish too, I was thinking to get a bigger one but I will try this as it can be quite handy, cheers for that, Chris

Great camp😁 I like your setup. I'll be interested to see how you modify it for next time. That was quite the hearty breakfast😋😋

I found my swag was fairly damp on the ceiling and walls also, especially when sleeping 2. what helped for me was opening just the bottom of the offside door and guying it slightly out with clip on guy line anchors. my thinking is it adds a little airflow up the back wall due to natural convection

Hi there, same here, I was really surprised the first morning when I ran my hand along the inside that it got wet, seemingly its normal and the second night I had the door open and just the mesh closed, it defo helped, I could look out and see the stars to! Good idea about the guy line, I didn't use mine this camp but that tension would no doubt help, thanks for watching and the comment, cheers Chris

Great video Chris, very honest about your setup. So, your last breakfast, was that Lorne sausage, Black pudding, and a links sausage? The previous nights duck looked very tasty, how long did you cook it on the grill?Nice. Love the Cast Iron cookwear. Nice to have found your channel.
@northernembersoutdoors10459 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for a great comment. I gave the duck about 6 minutes on the grill just to really get a good sear. Bit of a feast for breakfast, that was Lorne sausage, black pudding and link sausages, all made easy on the cast iron, need to get back out in the swag, thanks again, Chris

Great seeing all the different ways to cook on the fire there. Did the tarp get damaged at all from the sparks or did it hold up well? Cheers Chris.
@northernembersoutdoors104511 ай бұрын
Hi Gregor, I read that the canvas tarps can handle the sparks and this one seemed to, the nylon would be a different story I reckon, the firebox was good too because it was lower to the ground, so far so good. drying that tarp and putting it away was a challenge😁, cheers man.
