Maybe you can find some like-minded individuals here. Or try it by yourself first, close to your area. Who knows you might enjoy it more without that someone. But I get you 💯 to have someone to camp with.

Dry boots are a must, especially in winter. Your method of drying them works well, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Try beeswax on warm boots. I preheat my oven on warm, turn it off, put my boots in for several minutes, remove, apply beeswax while wearing my leather gloves, kills two birds with one stone, waterproofs my boots and gloves at the same time. Nice tarp. You must be using an expensive camera, beautiful photography/videography. Makes me want to head to the forest, alas, I'm a prairie dweller.

Hello Lone Wolf, Great to watch you camping this way. Way back in the early 1970's this is the way I would camp in Alaska except I would use my tarp to make a lean-to. I would make a long fire the length of my body to stay warm and set up a log reflector. Watching you brings back sweet memories of campfire smoke rising to Orion in the frozen night sky with the northern lights dancing above the horizon. Occasionally the howl of a wolf. Thanks for bringing back these memories. Starling Black

Found you about a month a half ago off of a recommendation from another camper in the great North. I love your balance of bushcraft and modern practicality: You're dead center for me especially since you cook something all the time (even if it's just ramen!) instead of doing freeze dried pouch meals. Point is, I like your style, not that you'd change for a random person who only just subscribed! Much love from the SE USA, where our winter camping looks like your summer

Excellent video, another request for you. Can you do a close up of the striking of the flint and iron so we can see the flame from the start if that is possible. It’s always from a distance. I know with your video prowess you could make it happen. I don’t know if you realized it (I’m sure you did) you were having left side audio drop out. Very noticeable with earbuds which I use. It was in and out and back on.

It could be done, tack sharp focus may be difficult at such shallow apperatures plus id have to light the fire 4 separate times in order to film that sequence, moving the camera and then piecing it all together to look like one cut. Interesting challenge. See what I can come up with since you are a very regular viewer 🤙🔥

@@Lonewolfwildcamping I’ve watched a lot of them and there is more. It’s like tv binge watching. Some I’ve watched multiple times and rewind to rewatch parts and sections. Your photography is so damn good I feel like I right there. My wife asks me who I talking to and I tell her Lone wolf and I get an inquisitive looks. I’m working my way back to the beginning of where it all started. It’s interesting to watch you get better and better at your dialogue and speaking. I know I would be a nuisance and a third wheel if I was actually there. But oh what an experience it would be. I know you’re originally from my neck of the woods. Tarp looks great. Any issues with folding it on the same crease lines time after time...coating and/or fabric wear, etc? Can it be simply stuffed into a sack? Al
@Lonewolfwildcamping
@Lonewolfwildcamping 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks the fabric is extremely durable an very resistant to folds. However I never fold my tarps the same way twice

You would need a second pair of leather gloves when the first one is wet . Il faudrait aussi des moufles , je n'ai jamais voulu sortir dans la neige sans moufles et je n'ai jamais perdu de moufle dans la neige. 🤗👍

@@Lonewolfwildcamping I'm not sure if you are being sarcastic.. You do less than 1% gear specific videos, and the rest are camping videos. Dan Becker does less than 1% camping/hiking videos, and the rest are gear videos. You are the Anti-Dan Becker!!!

Awesome channel, love your effort. Looking at getting started in winter camping, like the pomoly shelter with the T1 stove, the one with 1side window. With the tent, do you prefer the canvas or the 33D oxford with silver lining, I will be using all year. To note we live in Northern Ontario very cold at times. Take care and pay safe

I watch quite a few camping videos and I've concluded that you are the most comfortable in the forest/woods. Always a great camp set up, fire pits done right, reflective heat, great meal planning and preparation, especially with the wok, and great/real coffee too. You verbalize the equipment/gear you use and why...just enjoy watching you camp...did your boots dry out?

Great video... great coffee... nice wok... but, I’m wondering why almost nobody banks a fire? Simply put on more wood and cover it with ash..it will smolder all night and you can reignite your wood with the coals... my next question is why no floor other than snow? No pine bows, no ground cloth...
