The intro to hot tent video was of value. It contained lots of good information for the beginner to hot tent camping. Canvas is a great material for winter camping. It is more vapour permeable than any synthetic fabric so condensation won't be much of an issue. Canvas does have a bit of work to keeping it clean an dry, but not really much more than caring for any other synthetic made shelter. The only knock I have on pomoly tipis is they are 6 sided hexagon foot print. In my humble opinion they are not very space efficient when it comes to rectangular shaped ground mats, sleeping pads, cots, stoves, etc. I would prefer 8 sides for the same floor area.

Yes I watched the hot tent getting started video and loved it. I spent a year in Washington State about forty years ago and wintered in an REI Tent with an Air -Tite sheet metal stove. I was always comfortable except had to move every four days per campground rules back then. I enjoyed your video on all the options available today and although I'm almost 70 years old still look forward to hot tenting on mountain trout streams. Thank you for all the great tips in your videos and light weight options available today.

I have been interested in winter camping off and on most of my life but was told as a youngster to never have a flame inside of a tent. So discovering that there is such a thing as hot tenting, thanks to stumbling upon your channel, is a revelation. Yes, your "how to get started hot tenting" series is something I would like to see in its entirety, especially the part on safety. I must admit, I wish I would have learned more about why people are drawn to hot tenting in episode 1, and would like to know how you got started.

Great video Jeremy. I like the canvas solo tipi. I have a canvas Kodiak Canvas 10'x14' cabin tent that I use for truck camping on weeklong trips. I doesn't have a stove jack though. I appreciated your 1st video on getting started in hot tenting. I went and pulled the trigger. I ordered the Pomoly Hex 2-4 person tipi and a Kni-Co Trekker stove! can't wait to get them, I'm geeked now!! have a weekend trip planned for near the end of October. Look forward to the rest of your hot tent series. Atb.👍🏕

Interesting packing job. Not saying good or bad but one thing I like to do is put items like gloves or rain jacket in the lid or in an outside pocket for immediate access or even clipped to the molle (shame to see all those extra straps not being put to use). I use my leather gloves more than some so I like to keep them very handy. I saw in one of your recent videos that you rarely have used gloves before so I'm guessing that's a habit you might eventually change.

Awesome video! I did watch the first video to hot tenting, and found it very helpful. While I'm far from new to the outdoors and camping, I'm a really strange case. I used some nice gear throughout the years, but really never changed it, and I had the absurd feeling that if I changed what I was using, I was somehow betraying myself: I know that's pathetic! Finding your channel was the push that I needed to make things easier on myself, so seeing a lot of the different hot tent options together, was VERY helpful, as I've never "technically" been hot tenting. Plus, I'm also five feet, seven inches tall, and that helps put things into perspective. But, I'm really looking forward to the next video in the series. Sorry this was so long, as "Tempus Fugit"! Thanks for the video, stay safe out there and God bless!

Sorry one more question. I'm having a hard time deciding between the stoves. I think I finally decided on the folding T1 over the Timber though. So given that, I'm trying to decide with just the door window vs the additional side window. I'm just afraid of breaking it since I run my current stove hot and packed full side to side. It would be nice aesthetically, but should I pass on the side window to be safe?

I like the stand you used for your wok in this video. It looks similar to stands I have for using cast iron over an open flame. I noticed you did not use it on top of the wood stove. Was this because of the height of the stand (which would slow cooking) or because of a concern that the stove would be too hot for the stand? Most woks come with/have a "fire ring" to set the wok in while cooking. It would be awesome if Pomoly would add a fire ring for the wok, especially if it was made of titanium.
@Lonewolfwildcamping
@Lonewolfwildcamping 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much. I do have a fire ring from pomoly in titanium, I will be using soon. Yes the syove can also handle the heat of my current fire stand which is also titanium. I sure love cooking in the wok 🔥🤙

Sending you an email soon. I have a slew of questions. I love this site, quite the set up. Just beautiful. Especially like the brace you have to sit your wok on. Thinking thats a camping necessaty must have. Where is this location? Blessings

Thanks Lone Wolf for sharing another great adventure. Love the canvas hot tent - looks solid and made to last. 👍. Btw - I know you briefly mentioned that you would be coming out with some of your own camping gear. I would like to put in for an early request for the wax canvas bed mat. 😁
