How asymmetrical Holden can possibly be longer than normal one? You just put stick on 3/4 instead on half

Tempted to throw out for a 4.5x3 just for floor and door options, I plan to fly it over a hammock mostly but I also have other tarpage including an ancient IPK that I can use if smaller is required.

Good video with an awful lot of options, I'm figuring that this didn't get the 'likes' it deserved from over 20,000 views because it didn't show how to set up the different tarps🤔🤷♂️. Some good options, even if they're smaller & only used to cover up your bulky camping gear. ⛺️🤠👍

Hi Billy, Yes, it could get more views right? I did do video's on a couple of different floored pitches and some of these individual video's got quite a bit of views. They are in this playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PL8KMdG4VVjDeIJVDubnNYaNZZRSZeLnqn

If you rotate the Arrowhead 135 degrees, you get a fully enclosed shelter with floor. In the setup you are showing, the hypotenuse is the base of the smallest face (i.e. the triangle with two 45 degree angles). In the setup I'm suggesting, one of the two equal sides of the smallest face is the base.

+33762636 thanks for the tip! trying to figure this one out. Im interested in trying it, could you send a picture or post a video?
@justlooking1937 жыл бұрын
Let's see if I can explain it in a way that is easier to understand. The Arrowhead has four faces. One of them is clearly smaller than the other ones and has two 45 degree angles. The remaining three are about the same size but one of them is slightly larger than the other two. In the setup you are showing, the largest face is the floor. In the setup I'm suggesting, one of the two faces that are slightly smaller should be the floor. I suggest you try it folding a piece of paper first.

+33762636 ah thanks, now i get it. I do cover that one in a video, it's here: m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2OqiZetnLN9q9U , only i show it with a lower peak height and an open door, for better stability. Broadleaf ( also from nl) shows it as you suggest. The link is in the video. Can you comment on practical application? Thanks!

I think this setup can be a good option if you want to lie down for a while on a day hike but there's barely enough room for your feet and I wouldn't trust it to keep me dry if it rains.

+33762636 Hi! I did spend a few nights in the floored pyramid designs and they work for me (1m94 cm) but.... not in the fully enclosed variant because i don't trust that one for stability. Kind regards ph

I wonder if you've ever used the DD M tarp...rectangular. I'm after a weather stable floored fairly low profile configuration...single pole, although I could always improvise another from deadwood....I wonder if you'd have ago to recommendation . Brilliant series, always enjoy the vids.

Great Videos Papa hiker, what pitch would you recommend for two people that would be quite roomy and would give you a good protection from the rain? Could you send me the link? Many thanks
@papahiker90146 жыл бұрын
Hi mr Estebanito, you were watching the video on pitches with a floor. If you are looking for a rain worthy pitch for two people, you could do it with a 3*3m tarp, but I recommend a floorless pitch with a separate ground sheet or a bivvy/bug net. Then there are many good pitches, start looking at my video “tarp camping in awful weather”. In that configuration I personally enjoy the simplicity of the Holden tent with a lifter point. Practise first. 👍 Kind regards and maybe report back on your experience! Papa hiker
