I guess it's my lucky day! I was drooling over the Cloudburst 3 again, and this video shows it off perfectly. Now just to requisition the necessary funds...

I loooooove my Cloudburst 3 so much!!! I bought it since it is tiny and light to carry on bike-vacations. But its also so spacious to use on other holidays.

I think I need to buy one of these. I already have two TarpTents but that's obviously not enough!

perfect tent for me and my two boys. I'm gonna have to get one...I like the optional pole and fabric too as it would make this a four season tent and living in Alaska winter is 9 months so its perfect.

Has the design changed much in the last 3 years

A bit with regard to the tensioning system. Straps now run under the vestibules.

About to buy this....is there a wind rating or known max wind?

Am I seeing this right? Does the mesh not actually enclose the tent? The mesh on the door and rear are full height, but not on the sides? Bugs can still enter from the sides?
@tarptent3 ай бұрын
Fully enclosed. Anything that looks like a gap is black, no-see-um mesh.

No problem

I just wish there was more headroom. I hear nothing but good things when it comes to TarpTent build material quality, but I'm not a "backpacker" and I'm afraid I would feel cramped in one of these tents- including the hogback. I'm 5'9'' and not the most flexible when it comes to getting up and down anymore.

How much headroom are you looking for?
@HaddaClu6 жыл бұрын
50ish -55 inches. My Sundome 3P spoiled me. Sorry for being difficult.
@tarptent6 жыл бұрын
Looks like the Sundome is a car camping tent, not a backpacking tent. Unfortunately, that's not out domain! That kind of headroom (standing room!) in a backpacking tent tends to be excess space.

Can you squeeze a bicycle under a vestibule? This looks promising.
@tarptent6 жыл бұрын
With a tire off it's possible depending on the bike.

I know this may sound like a silly question but I am trying to see if the interior of this is completely meshed? on the videos I am seeing, you can tell that there is mesh on either end with the zippered doors but with the sides it is really hard to see, it looks like the mesh only comes up a bit and then it is completely open to the elements....can you let me know if it is all totally meshed in?
@tarptent8 жыл бұрын
+sunshineinspirations The tent is fully enclosed and fully bug-proof. There is a panel of mesh that separates the silnylon canopy from the bathtub floor. The doors are also mesh, although the vestibule doors are silnylon. You can see more pictures on our website: www.tarptent.com/cloudburst3.html. Hope that helps and e-mail us at info@tarptent.com if you have any additional questions.

***** Yes, that's correct. The Cloudburst 3 is a single wall tent so there is not a separate fly and interior. The mesh panel is what connects the floor to the canopy. The doors are also mesh and the vestibule doors are silnylon. I'm not sure what you mean by "reach over the mesh and touch the bare ground"? If the tent is closed then this would be impossible as it is a completely enclosed shelter.
@tarptent8 жыл бұрын
sunshineinspirations The tent is completely enclosed so if the doors were shut this would not be possible. Think of the mesh paneling as the connecting piece between the canopy and the floor (for ventilation). Hope that answers your questions.
