I mean this as a compliment ... Reviews like this keep me second guessing about my items and gear for backpacking , 🐻 !

Haha. No judgement. As long as one feels comfortable and safe exploring the wilderness, it doesn't matter their specific collection of gear.

@@LeftEnright I am pretty comfortable outdoors and can sleep pretty much anywhere at anytime. Did a pseudo bivy thing a few times on A.T. section hikes becouse I dreaded pitching my trekking pole tent 😂 .

Great video man. I keep thinking about getting that tent or the one person Li. Thanks again for sharing your adventure

I really liked the extra space of the 2P, especially when stuck in a tent because of rain. The few extra ounces were worth the weight.

Great review, Chris Pine. Awesome tent for sure.

@@LeftEnright indeed... and now that you're off trail... what's been the most noticeable change? Next adventure?
@LeftEnright2 жыл бұрын
@@VinceFowler That's a solid question. My hunger and diet required more attention off trail. I mailed my food to resupply locations along the trail and after completing the AT, making daily choices on food became a stressful ordeal. Months of hiking, mostly alone, for weeks without a zero and eating a set daily regime of food, my mind was free to ponder the humorous curiosities of life around me and explore deeper into myself without the need to make micro-decisions of nutritional minutia. "The Paradox of Choice" became obvious after reemerging from a southbound pilgrimage to Springer. With less distractions, there is more to appreciate. Cheers!

After viewing a lot of vids of dyneema tents and almost getting a Zpacks, The Double Rainbow Li stood out. Got it last week and haven't had a chance yet to pitch it so I can precut the porch pole lines, run a clothes line inside and add zipper pulls all with some 225 paracord or something thinner.
@LeftEnright Жыл бұрын
I saw a video where someone added those stealth zipper pulls but I never got a chance to try it out on my tent. Let me know if they work well for you.

Loved the double so much I have the single li as well. This tent doesn’t get the Creds it deserves.

I think mine was great and made this video to help spread the word.

Great review dude! I have had my eye on this tent for quite sometime. How do you think it would hold up with 2 people on the JMT? That is kind of what I am planning to buy it for. Let me know your thoughts man! Cheers!
@LeftEnright9 ай бұрын
Depending on each person's size, total gear load and closeness level, I would say yes. There is enough width for two pads and it has room at each end for summer gear. The vestibules are pretty roomy and low to the ground limiting splashing. The Hyperlite Unbound is a 2 person tent we used this summer on the 100 Mile Wilderness.(video coming soon) That tent worked great and we picked it because it's much was roomier but it's slightly heavier and didn't offer free standing ability..so trade offs. Mine still has plenty of life even after my AT SOBO hike in 2021. The JMT is on my short list of future adventures. Cheers and good luck!

Hi there! Love following your journey going SOBO. Jumped on it late but trying to catch up. I've been very interested in the Double Rainbow LI. Got some pros and cons?
@LeftEnright2 жыл бұрын
Howdy. Thanks for checking out the channel! I would highly recommend the tent. It held up my entire SOBO and kept me warm and dry. The main downsides are cost and condensation. But that is common with other single wall DCF tents.

@@LeftEnright Great to hear it held up well the whole journey! I’m wanting to purchase a single wall two person tent but been on the fence deciding on one. Got my eyes on the Double Rainbow LI, Zpacks Duplex, and Durston X-Mid Pro. I can deal with the condensation. Just trying to drop my base weight!

@@tylerhaney7389 I truly liked the ability to free-stand the rainbow or use my poles to prop open the doors.

@@LeftEnright It is a plus having that kind of versatility. Thanks!

@@LeftEnright There is an option to buy an inner lining that is supposed to help with condensation. Do you think that would really reduce condensation or just a gimmick?
