Sonic bounces around surprisingly fast. The lack of Spin Dash makes the strategy a bit different from that of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and Sonic 3 & Knuckles runs, since preserving your momentum becomes a lot more important. However, this doesn't prevent the author from achieving crazy velocities even with such a significant limitation. In this run, the game is completed without collecting any emeralds.
This is the ninth publication of this branch, improving on the previous effort ( tasvideos.org/2629M ) by 00:07.89 (of in-game time), due to even tighter optimization and some new shortcuts.
There are also runs where Knuckles ( tasvideos.org/2521M ) and Tails ( tasvideos.org/2514M ) they take advantage of their own abilities to finish the game in record time.

Egix Itchiford Sonic was never a well coded series (but the Genesis games were definitely more playable and stable looking than Adventure 1, especially DX). It’s a miracle the first game even works with unfixed illegal instructions.

The reason it looks more fucked up other tases/runs is because it has a cam hack that makes it so you can always see sonic which you normally can’t when doing zips and what not so it makes it so you see things in ways you normally wouldn’t

This might be a dumb question but wouldn't it be faster in most acts to wait until you have reached the 30 second mark instead of finishing in 20 something because of the points having to be counted?
