Headshots aren't usually fatal in this game, especially with the basic handgun, so nailing 21 and 24 instant-kills in a row without causing a single one to sprout a Plagas is phenomenal, even by TAS standards.

@@HE13272326 I don't think it raises the crit chance unfortunately, but the only real use for it is on the castle map as the garradors won't react to the sound of it when shot. Aside from that all it does is look cool and change the sound of the weapon.

The last time i tried mercenaries mode i was like 12, to me it's one of the hardest challenges i've ever seen in a game, maybe it was because of my age but god dam, even today i don't know how you make it to 5 stars with some characters, i'm assuming that you have to exploit zombie spawns or something

You must suck if you can't get 5 stars. As a 14 year old kid I got the handcannon. 5 stars with Leon on the level with the giant Dr Salvador which was really hard. But anyone who does not suck can do that. You just where young or you have not practiced the game enough.

Especially the chain bonuses for elites, that way you can maximize your points. But keep cracking at it and you'll get it someday. I won't lie, it took me a solid day learning each character and working to 5 *s. It just takes time and patience, and maybe a little info so you're not running completely blind.

I don't understand something with this TAS, : Why does a bother getting all the extended bonus time if he have 2:20min left in the end ? Coudn't he not try to get the maximum score or chain ? (He clearly could have killed some villager to keep the chain and he killed 348 ennemis in a row in the castle one) Why did he bother getting all these grenades if he not use them that much ? (He have 8 left at the end of the run)

The idea for a RE4 Mercenaries TAS is the time based from the start of the game, to the moment the last available Plagas dies. Once it dies the time stops. I do agree thought that it would seem a bit odd to get an extra time extension at the end, but since the parameters set it to the Plagas, rather than the time itself, it becomes a non-worry-able option.

Combo was dropped twice due to time needed to gather enemies prior to grabbing bonus chests. There are only 124 enemies on this map. I could have probably skipped the 2nd and 3rd time extensions and had 1 minute less waiting at the end.
