One of the unexpected great side effects of the TAS phenomenon is how it's effectively archiving the history of video games in a way no one else has before. Case in point: Behold, rough, blocky graphics, animation that's like swimming in maple syrup, and sound effects that are kinda just plastered on! (Plus a curling "match" straight out of the Homestar Runner universe!) Hey, everything was newfangled and low-quality at some point. Without games like this, there would never have been any Call of Duty, or Madden, or Dead or Alive Extreme, or Forza Motorsport. It all had to start _somewhere._

Great comment. This game is listed as Imperfect Graphics and Sound in MAME. This is probably why there is no sound at the end of events but the graphics probably won't change much. I will repost this TAS when the driver is updated.

regarding Ski Jumping: if you let the right side animation at 4:53 play out, it suggests that the player should aim for a strong *forewind* instead of a tailwind. (i suppose because of the wind pushing up against the skier's body & massive skis, creating extra lift for the jump.) i think that was lost in the process of translation.

Reminds me of Hyper Athlete [AKA International Track & Field for PSX] I think because they both use the same Konami GV System hardware

Appropiate for the real life parallel and a good TAS. Unfortunately, the game is very bland. No energetic music and no hyped announcer to pump you up. Worst of all, no medal ceremony. Certainly doesn't reflect the quality release Konami was capable of at the time.

@@Prog61 Exactly, this same thing happens in Hyper Athlete. Im guessing because it's trying to read the CHD data to play the Streamed songs but it just doesn't.
