[TAS] New (Ultra) Shortcut on Moonview Highway

With enough sideways momentum given from Superhopping and Supergrinding, this shortcut becomes achievable.
The shortcut itself doesn't save much time, but we can start a Supergrind upon landing back to the track which saves around 0.4~0.6 seconds (this is what makes this shortcut faster).
For reference, the estimated Fast Lap time for No Ultra using 3 shrooms is around 30.650, so Ultra would be still faster by 0.24.
Also, the shortcut is classified as an Ultra Shortcut (the 26th one discovered in Mario Kart Wii) because it skips the KeyCheckPoint 1.

Damn, finally the MH ultra! Also this opens a gate in case in the future a "no lap count" cut is found on this track, considering you also still have a shroom to spare... And now the special cup is the 3rd cup to have all tracks with an ultra!

This is so cool. I'm really glad that the SG from landing after the kcp 1 skip was fast enough to save time to actually make it a shortcut. And with this as well, special cup is done. It's crazy to me how the cup basically went from having no ultras to being very broken in less than half of the game's lifespan. Really nice work on this and congrats on getting the 26th ultra! I do also wonder if a SG up the hill after the toll road (similar to the SG up the first rDS hill) would be faster since you'd be at a higher speed before hitting the third boost panel there and could maybe carry the EV with SHing around the next corner. It wouldn't make the ultra faster than no ultra, but still would be interesting to look into

This was so crazy to see happen. Ejay and Charlie both coming up with the exact same idea within a month of each other, Jellopuff pulling off a crazy KCP4 skip which unfortunately wasn’t useful, then proving the KCP1 skip to be possible with bullet bike, then monster coming in circling back to make it possible with ODB, then monster finding the landing SG, which changed everything we had thought about this. The actual “shortcut” part of the ultra loses time, it’s the supergrind that saves time - so strange yet so cool. Amazing flap monster.

i think it’s because of the downwards slope

@@Oliver-b7j basically, the speed cap is capped with iv+ev* (this is vector addition so it doesn’t always add up like normal addition) but there is another velocity measure connected to the kcl i think that you can use to reach 120+ speed (in this case i think it’s because of gravity)

You can bypass the 120 speed lock when the body of your vehicle (not the wheels) interacts with the road in a certain way, which is most notably achievable when supergrinding.
