Pokémon: Yellow Version is part of the first generation of games within its famous series, known for having a very large number of beneficial glitches. In fact, the games can be completed in less than one minute of in-game time by save data corruption as shown by this run ( tasvideos.org/2687M ), and completed in around 10 minutes using a more "conventional" glitch, as shown by this run ( tasvideos.org/3655M ). These runs break the game, and avoid much of the gameplay intended by the developers.
In contrast, this run by TiKevin83 ( tasvideos.org/Users/Profile/T... ) refrains from using any memory corrupting glitches and beats the game in a little over an hour and half. The Pokédoll trick is used to skip a dungeon in the game, but that is considered a minor developer oversight and does not corrupt the memory.

Yeah, Nidoking was one of the best Pokemon back then. It's due to some of his superior moves, like Megahorn and Fissure. What's great is that he can also learn Surf instead of just Strength and Cut. A great Pokemon to bring in your party! Don't miss out that Nidoran boy!

I wonder how they did that Pikachu sound on the intro, i tought that GB and GBC are not capable of sampling sounds

They can - they can use the 'PCM' channel and extremely rapidly vary the amplitude being played at. It's CPU and data intensive so it can't be used for the entire game.

Oh they absolutely can, but they sound like shit. There's an Austin Powers game made for Gameboy(by Rockstar no less) that uses a lot of samples and they all sound like garbage. Apparently they wanted to replace all the Pokemon cries in Yellow with samples from the TV show too

Fiyaaah we really can't, it actually saves close to 4 minutes to not heal over the course of the run. There are some technical frame optimizations that are only available in red bar.
