@@buff00n3ry Agreed. I hate the music with it's "80s" synth-y drum pew pew sounds, I hate the sound of the Mega Buster. Super Mario games did the same thing. All of a sudden they were SUPER childish and everything is a fucking joke and nothing is serious. Mega Man 1 through 6 had semi-serious tones and 7 is like Romper Room crossed with Barney. Not to mention, Bass and Treble are just stupid. The dialogue between stages is HORRIBLE and 99% useless. "The Junk Shield makes a shield of junk, right?" "No, Megaman you friggin' idiot. And get the hell out of my lab." "Dr. Light, are you okay?" "Yeah, I normally spend the day face down in exploded computer debris. Idiot." "You forget, Megaman! Robots cannot harm humans!" What has literally been happening FOR THE ENTIRE GAME?!

so funny that this game sold nearly a million copies, was super popular and well regarded when it came out, was generally a game most people had on SNES, but now youtubers and redditors have braindead NPCs saying "megaman 7 sucks" lmao

But I can't deny the level of polish and care MM7 has for a game they cranked out in just three months is pretty insane, which even at the time was incredibly short. Plenty of games nowadays with significantly more development time _wish_ they were half as good at launch as MM7.

It's probably the nostalgia, but this game is the definitive base Megaman experience for me. The 8 bit games before it are fine to varying degrees, and not much needs to be said about the music! But in terms of balanced gameplay+power ups, sprinkled in secrets, relative boss difficulty; not many games get these right let alone Megaman series. Oh yeah, and story also has highlights. In friggin Megaman of all things. X is generally better IMO but 7 is a first for base Megaman.

If MM7 was my first Mega Man title I'd likely not have played any of the others. It's easily the worst of all of them and there's a LOT of Mega Man games.

7 was my first Classic game (I played X1, X2 and the Zero series first) and it’s still my favorite out of the ones I’ve played, I will never understand why the first three games get all the credit when they are so archaic.

@@GatorOne-in7hk The first three are classics that basically laid the groundwork for the whole series going forward, and tons of people played them. Not to say Mega Man 4-6 are bad (far from it, they're actually among the best games the NES has to offer and are much more enjoyable to revisit, IMO). However, they came out later in the system's life and even after the SNES released, so they kind of flew under the radar. MM6 didn't even get an official release in PAL regions until the Wii Virtual Console.

TAS used Item 1 to glitch Mega Man 2. Here, it uses Rush Search for the same reason. I love how it uses it against SWN.001 and Treble, in DWN.055's stage.

Nope, Wily Capsule has no hitbox when the life bar is rising. Would be awesome if it is, as the fight is extremely random and hard to manip lol.

How are the zips done here?

Basically, if you're not on a solid platform (e.g ground), and if you precisely cancel a slide that is against a wall, you can barely get into the wall, but you will fall immediately, however, if you frame perfectly do another slide, you end up getting upwards, thus we continue doing so until we fully inside a wall, then jumping every 3 frames makes us climb faster :)

@@GmNdWtchr96 7 came out WAY before X7 and it's still better than this travesty. The DOS games are reprehensible but so are all DOS games that are based on console games. They aren't mainline and they don't count. That's total low-hanging fruit. In fact, ~maybe~ 7 isn't the worst because Mega Man 8 exists but it's real damn close but I personally think 7 is still more terrible than 8.
