[TAS] Super Pac-Man 20 Stages in

Super Pac-Man was Namco's _official_ sequel to the original Pac-Man. Most people think that distinction went to Ms. Pac-Man, but that game was actually an unauthorized hack by Midway (and adapted from a never-released prototype called Crazy Otto, by GCC Computer), and Namco only officially recognized it and took ownership rights to it later on. I never quite understood Super - it was promoted as such an advancement over the original, but it never had the same appeal to me. For me, the coolest part was the super-sized Pac-Man that could go extra fast and bust through the locked doors, but the "Collect all the fruit" and the random-fruit minigame in the middle felt too different and, in some cases, just broke the flow of the game for me. It's worth noting that Super Pac-Man came out at about the same time as Gaplus, Dig Dug 2, and Hopping Mappy, all of which were strange experiments on their respective genres and all of which, IMO, did too much to tweak their formulas.

Super Pac-Man confused the hell out of me as a kid, but after reading about the gameplay on Wikipedia, and watching people play it on KZbin, it makes more sense to me now.

As a child this was always one of my favorite Pac-Man games mainly because of the super pellet making Pac-Man turn huge and thus it also looks like he's flying over the ghosts hence why they're sprites looked stretched whenever Pac-Man eats the super pellet I frist witnessed this game on my old and very nostalgic Pac-Man plug and play and ever since then this game slowly became one of my favorites and to this day it still is I also love how there's bonus stages in this game although they can be difficult at times due to being timed and only having so much time to complete them before time runs out this is also one of the few Pac-Man games that actually allows you to go inside the ghost house when I discovered that I was amazed by how you where actually able to do that in this game overall I definitely love this game it's very uquinqe and definitely worth playing

Those first three stages are actually similar to how I play. Though, in my case, I usually miss a few turns because the game's controls are pretty slippery.

It is a test bootup, it is commonly used on Arcade cabinets to check the ROM (& RAM) of the game, It was used to make sure the game is running properly.

The 2 bonus symbol roulette wheels have to match to get 5000 pts. You have to time it just right.

What does TAS mean?

TAS mean Tool Assisted Speedrun or Superplay. The basic idea is that with an editor I can edit the player actions for every frame. You could say that this is a robot playing the game, not a human.
