Fantastic work . Sounds great with 7 layers. And all of this on a 4 track.

So nice. I owned an 244 on -80 and made music with it. Those were the days.

Hi Dennis, wow that's such a cool soul sound. I love the effect of space that the reverb brings to the mix. Great work.

Very very cool. I don't often bounce because of the "commitment" you make in that you can't undo what is done, but this makes me want to try it again.
@MultitrackCassetteFans4 жыл бұрын
I actually like the commitment thing, because it forces me to make the right decisions, and it keeps me focused. I’ve never really regretted bouncing, have you? And if you have two 4-tracks, you can always keep your original tracks. Thanks for watching!

This is awesome. You could easily do this with handclaps for an old-school Zapp, or George Clinton style funk vibe. What a great way to add some organic human quality to a drum loop. 👍

David Paul Thanks David!

David Paul It might have been better if I had ran the last bounce of finger snaps through a noise gate, to get rid of most accumulated tape hiss. Apart from that, it still surprises me how clean these machines can sound

Eye definitely thought of Bootsy and George and Roger creating Moor Bounce with the extended handclaps when Eye watched this. Ever Funkin On Baba 🤘🏽🕶️💜

Hey Dennis, nice to see you rocking out again - man, that 244 has some sound, nice track... Btw the faders 🎚 do something crazy around 3:25 - was that in the editing?
@MultitrackCassetteFans5 жыл бұрын
BogoEN Thanks! Yes, I see it now....it must be an editing glitch...no automation on the 244, that’s for sure 😜

FrequincyRecording Thanks for watching! I have several 4-tracks, but the 244 is really something else. If you find one for a reasonable price, buy it! If it needs repair or belt replacement, there are many videos on youtube to help you

Hi. What tape did you use? I just bought TDK CDting ChromeType II ad it doesn't seem to fit the machine?

Chrome type II is the recommended tape for these machines

Maxim F. Great possibilities on the fostex 260, nice EQ on each channel, very usable. You’ll have a good time working on it 👍

Really nice! Very cool piece of music. Can you do rolls and flams in Garageband? Is it available for PC? Not being able to play drums is really messing up my 4 tracking.
@MultitrackCassetteFans5 жыл бұрын
brother john higgins Thanks! I think you can do rolls and flams, but unfortunately Garageband is only available for mac (as far as I know). But there are alternatives for Windows: www.makeuseof.com/tag/6-garageband-alternatives-music-production-windows/

Hey there. How come your trim pot levels are at 0 when recording tracks 2 and 3? I thought those had to be up for the track to be recorded. I'll go back to the earlier videos in case I missed something. Thanks

I’m using an external mic preamp, which comes in at line level
@alexxmagicc4 жыл бұрын
Am I missing something here? How are you achieving the 5th-7th layers? Like, how are you recording both from the tape cues and the mic at the same time...
@MultitrackCassetteFans4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I choise for each channel which input I want: tape or mic. So I mix two tape tracks with 1 mic channel, and record it onto a third track
@72david72lp4 жыл бұрын
How are you connecting your mic to the 244 since it doesn't have xlr inputs? I'm thinking of buying one for myself.
@MultitrackCassetteFans4 жыл бұрын
If you use a dynamic mic, you can use the regular jack input at the front of the machine. If you want to use a condenser mic, you need a separate mic preamp. I have an ART Tube Studio V3, which does a pretty good job

hi, i was wondering if there was any kind of recording audio latency with the tascam 244?
@MultitrackCassetteFans5 жыл бұрын
No. Latency is usually caused by the fact that audio is first digitized for recording, and immediately coverted back to analog, back to speakers or headphones. But the 244 is full analog, there is no digitizing involved, so no latency
