Yep, a great video. So much easier to understand than the user manual. Keep up the good work!

Hi Denis. You will do it fantastically. I want to thank you for the video on how to move track 1,2,3 to the fourth track. Great informative video. I need advice again. How to combine the mono effect with the Tascam 244 send-return system so that the mono effect appears on track1,2,3,4 during recording. Thank you very much. Regards Marek

is it possible to just connect a seperate mixer to one of the tracks input and do some more precise mixing and bussing to sum to one of the 4 tracks?? hopefully that makes sense lol

That's an awesome sound recording Dennis. I can tell that you are very experienced in getting great recordings. There is absolutely no hiss that I can hear at all. Isn't it just so much more enjoyable not looking at a computer screen?. Do you have any full demo songs of your own that you have written?. As always, warmest regards to you my friend. Paul.

Thanks, Paul. I like working with a limited set of options indeed. “One knob per function” definitely beats “wait, let me check the Audio Driver menu, it must be under Preferences, Project Settings or General Settings...” 😂 I’ve never written that much myself, I mostly like to record and produce songs that others have written. If you want to hear some recordings that I did in the 90’ / early 00’s: m.kzbin.info

Did you erase track 1 after bouncing the 3 tracks to 4?

Hi, first of all thanks a lot for your video, I learn so many things thanks to you. I have a question: I've got my 4 track recorded, I mixed it, how can I "save the mix" on tape so I can put another tape and work on a different project ? Should I put all tracks on "Tape", Monitor on "Remix" then 4CH REC so it re-write all the track with the mixdown ? Cheers

Hey Dennis awesome video. Is it as simple as plugging a 3.5mm jack from my computers headphone into the input of the Tascam to record? I imagine it’s the same way going back into something like Logic Pro right? Output of Tascam back into the computer? Thanks kindly
@MultitrackCassetteFans3 жыл бұрын
Hi Antoine, yes, it is that simple. Please keep these things in mind: 1. start with low audio levels fron your computer, because your tascam input might clip or even be damaged. Same goes for tascam audio into your computer’s mic input. 2. If you use a usb audio interface, audio quality will be much better, and you have line level input and output, which is much better for the job. I use a focusritr scarlett 2i2 for both directions

@@MultitrackCassetteFans thank you so much friend. Yeah I have an Apogee running here and will eventually go that route but for the meantime to keep things simple I’m going to run the 3.5m cable from the Mac :)

Thanks so much for posting these videos, they are very helpful. I own a Teac 144, the predecessor to the 244. Do you know if I’d be able to bounce down in the same way you have here?

BogoEN Thanks for your kind comment. I’ve never touched a 144, but I’m pretty certain you can bounce tracks with it

recording on Track 4, Track 2 is lighting up. that is a bit weird. !
@MultitrackCassetteFans5 жыл бұрын
bonno666 In the beginning, I found that a bit weird too. Later on, I discovered that while recording in SYNC mode, the first 2 VU meters indicate levels of Buss L and R. Only if you record in 4CH mode, all 4 VU meters light up

@@MultitrackCassetteFans I've had the 244 for 3 years and I want to use it more! Gonna try recording drums of it. I bought because of Mac Demarco having recorded his first album with the unit

Let’s say I have drums on input 1 and guitar on input 2. Would it be possible to put both on just input 1? Or would it erase the drums ? Does it have to be on an empty input?
@MultitrackCassetteFans6 жыл бұрын
Daniel Explosion Do you mean input or track? I assume “track” 😀 Yes, whatever you record on a track will erase anything that was on it before. This limitation is also the beauty of cassette multitracking: you become very aware of the number of tracks you have, and you have to give your best performance every time you decide to re-record a track. Happy recording!

I just got the 244. It definitely is possible cause I had ch.1 vocal and ch.2 bass. When I play it back both channels are on EACH track 1 and 2. (By mistake) I'm actually trying to figure out how to get them separated for future recordings lol I did end up getting it somehow by using the 4 ch. Rec. Function. Maybe if you pan drums L and guitar R it might work. I don't know I just try all kinds of things till I get a consistent result. Hah !

Great videos Dennis, thank you for sharing. Quick question - when mixing down, if I were to bounce track 1 and track 2 onto track 4, but track 1 and track 2 were hard panned left and right, would their panning remain on the bounced track 4?
@MikkeyboyyАй бұрын
pan everything to the right while bouncing it to 4
