For anyone interested in the first few minutes being cut. During the prize task, two prizes mentioned Bill Cosby. The prize task was: "Bring something that has aged poorly." Madeleine brought in molded cheese and got 1 point, because according to the Taskmaster, this type of cheese is quite delicious. Angella brought in a floppy disk with an old picture of the Taskmaster on it, who had a weird style back in the day. 2 points, because the Taskmaster drew a line of her mocking him two weeks in a row. Guy brought three music CD's by Bill Cosby. No further comment from him. He got 3 points, because the music might still be good. Brynley brought in a meal from last week, that was served in a Bill Cosby fatherhood bowl. She got 4 points for it. And I think for the first time Leigh got 5 points in a prize task for audio cassette shoes.

I agree with this take. The contestants were extremely reasonable and funny about the whole thing; even Guy (Who brought in the comedy album CDs) simply cut himself off from trying to going into any detail on the subject matter. Also Jeremy definitely didn’t like Angella’s floppy of his old frosted tips, so there’s two reasons he may’ve gotten the whole task nixed. I mean, how easy would it be to just cut the two seconds where he explains that Cosby’s joke material aged fine? Very!!! I wouldn’t even have noticed!

And if it was, it's always possible he learned better, changed his mind, didn't realize it didn't read as a joke until after it aired...I think it was an extremely bad take of his, and I do think a bit less of him because of it, but I'm willing to give him a little benefit of doubt wrt who made this particular decision

Having watched this episode, I'm not convinced the opener isn't cut off in error. It does make a Bill Cosby reference, but not much good is really said about him. Jeremy says theres a couple good jokes done by Bill Cosby if you wade through the shit which is by far the nicest thing anyone says about Bill Cosby the whole task. The Bill Cosby reference being why people assume it got cut. But also, the episode still starts at a weird spot. They cut off part of the contestants entering for the first task. They ignore the opening theme and a funny joke by Paul talking about how its a conspiracy and Rome was actually built in a day. All stuff they could have left in and just cut the prize task if that was the reason.

I'm curious about the rules for the live task word search puzzle. They weren't looking for specified words, so if they find "Assistant", could they just break it down for additional words like "ass", "assist", and "ant"? Lots of little 2 or 3 letter words in it. Here are the longest notable words I saw in that puzzle: - Bangladesh (Not really a word, but there are words in it...) - Peccadillo - Taskmaster - Assistant - Leafblower - Rollercoaster - Turtleback - Outlandish - Vegetable - Sculpture - Toastie - Gluten Mostly, I was looking just to see how plausible beating press-ups via word search would be. There are definitely enough words (If you allow overlapping words in the same larger word, particularly), but there's no way to find a word for every two press-ups someone else does (Particularly because there was no rule about what constituted a press-up... their shoulders went slightly down then up again with the rest of their body on the floor? One press-up!). Anyway, fun word search. I'm not sure where a couple of those words came up in the series, but clearly the long words are all related to it.

Whether it was intended or not, I think it's safe to say the task makes a lot of sense if it was made clear and ensured that only full, clean, proper push-ups from the feet counted towards the score; in that case we wouldn't have contestants easily getting dozens of points while others struggled to break past 10 in the search. It would have been much more effort to achieve each point, and I think much more fun to see how they divided their attempts.
