In this Broadcast Award-winning, BAFTA and Emmy Award-nominated entertainment show, Taskmaster tyrant Greg Davies (Man Down, Cuckoo), with the help of his loyal assistant Alex Horne (The Horne Section and the show’s creator), sets out to test the wiles, wit and wisdom of five hyper-competitive comedians.
Comedians that have risked life, limb, and dignity in the hope of making the Taskmaster proud so far include: Frank Skinner (The Frank Skinner Show), Mel Giedroyc (The Great British Bake Off), Romesh Ranganathan (Asian Provocateur), Hugh Dennis (Outnumbered), Sally Phillips (Bridget Jones’ Diary), Rose Matafeo (Edinburgh Comedy Award Winner 2018), and Russell Howard (The Russell Howard Hour). Unaware of what awaits them in each wax-sealed envelope, only one competitor can become the victorious owner of His Royal Task-ness’ golden head and be crowned the next Taskmaster Champion.

The people working on this show have been dealing with comedians doing stupid shit for years. But it takes Kiell earnestly announcing that he planned to kill himself by running into traffic for us to finally hear a sound or camera person audibly suppress laughter.

we can see it - might not've been able to a couple of months back, but last night after the first ep of series 18 i had a scroll back of the channel's uploads to where i last watched a vid at the end of may just after series 17 had finished, and there these all were waiting for me - plus the s18 interviews as i didnt realise it was on last night until i got home from the evening's dog walk and turned the telly onto channel 4 news and just happened to look at the tv guide whilst doing so. i'd mentally tuned out of all the recent "daddy's back" trailer repeats thinking they were still saying "coming soon" at the end. i really enjoyed that TMclass ep at the end of s17 and apparently we should be getting the 2nd ep of that after the final of s18 (according to wiki)... one of the regulars in these comments (taotology) has a bee in their bonnet about the dropping of picture-in-picture reaction shots of the contestants in the studio watching the playback to the 'theatre'/studio of their tasks, which they had in the early dave series then dropped; i guess this provides that footage to some delayed degree for them.

A hat trick of episode wins is common. In the 10-episode era, the only way you can avoid at least one contestant winning 3 episodes is if every contestant wins exactly 2 episodes each. Richard Herring and John Robins hold the record for most episodes won in a series, with 5 each. Ed Gamble and Guz Khan won 4 each. Then there's a whole raft of people (18) who won 3 each, including Kiell.
@redgreen82

@@redgreen82 apparently germans only consider a footy hatty if it's three consecutive goals by the same person and possibly also in the same half (probably an 'uberhatty'); some nerds also require the ultimate hatty of left peg, right peg, header too. edit: oh and i knew someone will've already done the fact checking to disprove kiell, which i think he knew would happen (judging by how he brings up the internet geniuses criticising him), but that wont stop me going over the wiki list of TM episodes anyway... i'd paused at the first instance of a hatty, 4th series (2017), mel giedroyc in the first of two 8 ep series, with eps 2, 4 & 8 the final. i thought i'd read all the comments first before continuing and am quite surprised there's as many as 18, i might just list them all here, so this will be an EDIT IN PROGRESS...:- S4 Mel Giedroyc eps2,4&8/8 S5 Bob Mortimer 1,3&7/8 S5 Sally Phillips 2,6&8/8 S6 Russell Howard 4,7&8/10 (10ep Ss from here on out) S7 Rhod Gilbert 4,7&8 S7 Kerry Godliman 1,2&9 S7 James Acaster 3,6&10 S8 Lou Sanders 2,3&9 S8 Iain Stirling 1,5&10 S9 Ed Gamble 2,6,8&10 - FOUR so NOT a hatty! S10 Richard Herring 1,5,8,9&10 - FIVE - that's just greedy! Includes a consecutive hatty at the end there, but in Kiell's world, still NO! S16 Sue Perkins 2,4&9 S17 John Robins 3,4,5,8&9 - FIVE - with an early consecutive hatty, but NO, NO, NO!! i need to check his wording now, but he _is_ the only contestant to have won just three eps in consecutive order...! prior to Mel's S4 & Bob & Sal's S5, the two 8ep Ss, S1 was 6eps with two double ep winners and S2 & S3 were just 5eps with one double ep winner each.

Kiell’s mostly right about Greg’s injustices but he did sound more South African than anything else. The New Zealand pronunciation is “Taaaaaskmaaaaaster”.

I am so very confused by cast members from multiple different seasons reading this task at 13:17. What's that about?

i think it's fair to give Jenny some slack (no sure that much) since she is about twice as old. I always found it unfair that these things play no role. Maybe they do in how far Alex is willing to help.

Apparently Jenny had surgery quite recently before filming so needed some help with the more physical tasks

We know on screen he physically helped her on the pineapple task and turning the wheel for the pulper. It's possible there were other times he gave her a hand that we just didn't see; I doubt she will have been shy about asking for assistance if she needed it any other times :)

He could've just put the end of the hose in the glass as far away from the spigot as it would reach and then turn it on.....
