I actually about an hour ago went to unplug mine and it ALSO broke. I’m unsure if I’ll be able to just leave it broken (the plug is stuck connected but the plastic sensor part is hanging out. The hole in the timing cover just has the two metal sensor prongs hanging out. Does this leave a risk of leaking oil out of is it ok to leave it as is ? Can you please tell me what you did to plug the hole ? Thank you

So i unplugged mine from my 2013 ML63 and dont seem to see any difference. So lets say mine was in a stuck open position even before i unplugged it so that wouldnt make a difference if i unplugged or not, correct? So by unplugging will make the solenoid open position? Is that the purpose for this?
@AlexHernandez-xh8ei9 ай бұрын
By unplugging the solenoid it stays in open position at all times allowing maximum oil pressure. In some rare cases they can stay closed like the one in the video. If the car is tuned and modified with the solenoid stuck in closed position, damage will occur

Hows does this influence engine properly work?
@austingtir10 ай бұрын
See in the last couple of months people on mbworld forums have figured out if you remove the plug for these solenoids thats next to the crank pulley you disable these stupid solenoids altogether and get 100% oil flow from the moment you start the car up. Many obvious benefits to this. May even help prevent some bore scoring issues if its not the injectors or bent rods..... The only downside is miniscule extra fuel use and im yet to see if anyone confirm if it stops eco light or eco system working properly as I only just did this to my s550 havent driven it enough to see. Even MB own literature says its a "nonessential system".
@nemodemo420Күн бұрын
Extra fuel consumption is not the only downside. In colder climates fuel pumps can go bad prematurely without solenoids due to cold starts. This may total the engine. I own a car with M278 and don't want to risk it by applying an "easy" fix. Also you will need to change the oil in less than 5k miles without solenoid there.

@johnantonopoulous63813 жыл бұрын
Are you having issues or just changing the fluid. If your just changing the fluid see if you have a tourque converter drain bolt. And check if you have any leaking at the electronic plug before starting. They trend to fail and fluid will go up the wire harness and destroy the tcu. Drain the tourque converter if you have it drop the pan replace the filter. Put everything back together and fill through the dipstick. You will need to measure the pan temp with an infared thermometer or read the temp off off of a scanner to tell you when to check the fluid level. It requires a special 722.6 dipstick.
