If you have the p60dd code then changing out the oil sending switch won't fix your issue. Your issue is downin the front if the engine. Either the oil pump Solenoid, oil pump or its a part with the timing. I originally thought the problem was the sending unit too until I watched more videos. It's a much bigger job and you will also need to pull off the oil pan. Just thought you might want to know if fixing that sending switch didn't solve your issue.

The problem is an issue with the timing chain tensioner if the sensor didn't fix it. I believe it is a TCB recall from all chevy and GMC dealers. What happens is the timing chain slips because of the tensioner on the oil pump and can actually damage the pump. No, ended up with an oil pump failure. That's what everybody with PO6XX code end up with... GM truck's liability is going down the drain since 2014. What does a p06dd mean
@obscur156 Жыл бұрын
What does the P06DD Code Mean? P06DD code indicates that the powertrain control module (PCM) receives a signal from the engine oil pressure sensor that engine oil pressure is below the predefined allowable thresholds. In such a situation, the PCM attempts to minimize engine wear by disabling the oil pump drive and setting the code.

My 2018 silverado oil is at 15ish psi at idle! What is yours when before and after?
@obscur1563 жыл бұрын
The thumb rule for oil pressure is 10 PSI per 1000 rpm to maintain on the engine. It is acceptable to have 10-15 as idle oil pressure. Oil pressure reading 15 to 20 PSI is read as too low, even in idle condition. The oil pressure may be low in cold weather until the oil pump gets to supply oil to the engine. Mine was low since oil pump was failling.

obscur156 yeah I definitely miss my 05, did you change the pump while there or just the solenoid
@obscur1564 жыл бұрын
@@thePimpdaddyvideos I did not repair it yet. The problem is the oil coming up the connector on that solenoid valve, Cleaned it with brake cleaner and the problem disappeared for 20 minutes, but came back due to the oil coming back to the connector again. Starting to think about a cheap fix like RTV sealant... The oil going up that connector is creating some kind of a short I guess and popping that P06DD...
