I love the way Mr. H fell in love with American barbecue before he even tried it, and then it vastly exceeded his expectations! He was expecting something delicious and got something sensational! I am so glad and proud that we made him and his family so happy.

Not sure if you guys do Thanksgiving or not in the UK, but you guys should look up some recipes for a traditional American Thanksgiving dinner. For the turkey, you should have Mr. H smoke the whole turkey in his smoker. For the sides, you should do Green Bean Casserole, Mashed Potatoes w/turkey gravy (use the drippings from the smoked turkey), Cornbread Dressing/Stuffing, and Candied Sweet Potatoes. The recipes can be found across google and there are many sides to go with Thanksgiving, I just named a couple traditional ones. Love the videos as always

Mac and Cheese has always been a big hit with the kids, and adults like it too. Compared to other foods it is more easy to make especially if you are doing the box kind. If you make something simple to have with with it like Hotdogs then it can make for a simple lunch or supper and young kids like cut Hotdog pieces as a finger food.

Pork may not be king when it comes to BBQ here in Texas but pork chops or ribs or sausages are definitely going on my plate whenever I see they're an option. I'm also quite fond of doing my own pulled pork from time to time. Though, being the good Texan that I am I do love my brisket too!

Cooper’s in Lano Terry Black’s in Dallas/Austin Louie Meuller’s in Taylor Franklin’s in Austin Goldee’s in Ft Worth… Just to name a few of the very best BBQ in the world!!! KC brags about their BBQ. I’ve been here on work assignment for 6mos. I’ve tried their very best. Doesn’t even come close to central Texas BBQ. They’re all about their sauces. That’s because they don’t know how to cook their meat properly. They have to add sauce to make it edible. Thank you for putting our BBQ on the world stage where it properly belongs. Beef is KING in Texas, but we can do it all. No brag, just fact.

Hey Mrs. H, I thought I'd suggest another recipe that is often fixed when someone's in a hurry or feeling a bit punny... instead of soup. A quiche is quick and easy and there are so many variations to choose from. Meats, cheeses, and veggies can be mixed in any combination. This recipe is called: Quiche Loranne 1) Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) Ingredients 1 unbaked 9 inch pie crust (called deep dish in US) 6 slices of Bacon 1 sm. onion chopped 1 1/2 cups of whole milk or heavy cream 4 eggs, beaten thoroughly 1/4 tsp. salt & pepper 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese 1 tsp. all purpose flour Line pie crust with double layer of aluminum foil, and bake in the preheated oven for 8 min. then remove the foil and continue baking until crust is just set, 4 to 5 minutes. Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). (this reduces shrinkage of the dough and prevents the bottom from getting soggy) 2) Place bacon in a skillet and fry on med to med.- high heat until crispy...then place on paper towels and let drains for a few mins. then break up into crumbles and set aside. Reserve about 1/3 of the bacon grease and use to sauté onions until tender and then set aside Next mix together eggs, milk, and salt in a large bowl, then stir in the bacon and onions in a quart size freezer bag toss the teaspoon of flour and the shredded Swiss cheese and shake to coat the cheese, then add everything in the bag to the egg mixture and combine. Then pour into preheated crust and bake for 40 to 45 min. or until the middle is set and the top is lightly golden. (another option to include in this quiche is broccoli...simply pop 1 cup of frozen broccoli with 1/3 cup water into microwave until tender about 6 to 8 min. depending on the microwave directions) I introduced my children to broccoli and asparagus with this. 😘👌

I had a friend visit from England once, and he threw a fit when I barbecued one night! I had soaked a handful of wood chips in water, then I spread them over the coals to make the smoke. My English friend said the fire brigade was going to come, and we were going to get in a lot of trouble. I told him that unless we called them, the fire brigade would assume we were barbecuing. He said I was ruining the meat, and we were going to have to throw those lovely steaks in the garbage and go out to eat. I told him that I grew up in Kansas, which is in barbecue country, and I know what I'm doing. So after listening to him complain the whole time I cooked those wonderful bacon wrapped filet mignons, I clearly heard him say that it was the best steak he ever ate in his life. He'd never had a bacon wrapped filet mignon, he'd never had a steak properly barbecued, and the combination of the two was the best thing ever!
