I love the Chipotle burger. The secret is to bake them at 400 degrees until they are really dark, flipping halfway thru. About 20 mins or so. Then take out and schmear Sweet Baby Ray's on there, each side and bake another 5 mins. Serve with Just Mayo and all your fave vegs. SO good.

Only the honey BBQ. The original is honey free. However if you are iffy about sugar then it is probably still a risk.

Okay guys I work for Trader Joe's and let's just explain how Aldi's and Trader Joe's are connected. Trader Joe's is an American company started in Pasadena California buy an American guy and the store was called pronto. Then it was eventually purchased by one of the brothers from Aldi's who owns the northern based Aldi's in Europe. The Aldi's in America we're actually owned by the brother who owned the southern all Aldi's in Europe. They are both not alive anymore. Aldi's does own Trader Joe's, and I think some of the products are probably starting to become a little similar. Some say you can even get Trader Joe's products in Germany now. That's kind of in a nutshell. I do, however think they don't dictate how our stores are run on a daily basis. We're pretty individual even as stores go all over the place. People get confused about how not all the products and every store is the same but that has a lot to do with the distribution. I don't know why they don't understand this. And I know this is sort of a relevant for you Chris, but you even as a non-drinker understand that not all laws around whether or not a store can carry alcohol is different from state to state and even County to County. Therefore, not all Trader Joe's carry alcohol, not even in California. Get over it people! I'm not talking to you guys, but seriously some people get all bent out of shape when they can't come into the store and not only find all the products that they get where they show up on a normal basis, but they want him to be in the same location to. Sorry about this rant! Love you guys!

Johanna Woodbury Aldi in Portugal has some Trader Joe's products (different from the ones in the US). Aldi in Portugal is run by Aldi North.
6 жыл бұрын
The divide of ALDI is a bit different. You have ALDI Nord (essentially ALDI north), which owns the stores in the northern part of Germany and ALDI Süd ("ALDI South") which owns the stores in the south of Germany. Outside of Germany they both work in different countries, not really divided in north/south. ALDI Nord is in France, Spain, Portugal, Denmark and other countries, while ALDI Süd is in Italy, Switzerland, China, the UK, Ireland and other countries. But everyone just stays in "his" countries. In the US the ALDIs are from ALDI Süd, yes, and Trader Joe's was bought by ALDI Nord (not completely right, they belong to the same organisation). Trader Joe's in Germany is more of a brand name sold in ALDI Nord for a few items (nuts, ice tea and some other stuff). While Trader Joe's in the US has more gourmet and ecological stuff, ALDI Nord is a classical Discounter.

Yes! We get Trader Joe's branded products in Aldi in France, but they're like nuts and dried fruit, but nothing like the products they sell at Trader Joe's in the US.

Darn my Aldi was already out of the meatballs, chik'n products and only had the soy burger, cheese and hot dogs. When I asked if they were going to be carrying them she said probably only the soy burgers and the hot dogs. When I asked why she said basically shelf space. When I mentioned if they sold out so quickly, which even they were shocked that they did, wouldn't that show it was a sought after product and that maybe they should carry it. She said it wasn't up to them which I get but you would think that would show whoever does the ordering that Vegan products are more and more in demand.....

I live in Maryland and was told the exact same thing at my Aldi. We never got the sausage, hot dogs, "chicken" patties or tenders. They said space was the isssue, and now every item other than the burgers (which they carry anyway) are gone! I was disappointed that these items were for limited time only.
@latinainwpb6 жыл бұрын
I bought the classic meatballs and cooked them w/spaghetti sauce but didn't like the taste nor the consistency (kind of pasty). I loved the soy burger, I cooked them on a nonstick pan and they seemed to me like beef burgers. When I went back I was upset because there were none so I bought the black bean ones, they're ok I guess but I'm not sure if I'll buy them again any time soon because I'm thinking of making my own with more seasonings. The first time I tried the quinoa ones and I think I liked those better than the black bean but they're lower in protein. Avoided the others because I should eat wheat-free and already made an exception or two because if I don't overdo it my body seems to be able to handle it. I believe that they will eventually bring everything the most popular items back because that's what they did with the gluten free products. Four years ago all they sold here at "my" store was pancake and brownie mixes but very soon they introduced more items of the line. For a while they kept rotating some of them but eventually the majority became permanent staples.

Good point about the meat ball tasting like the Trader Joe's as the two chains originally were a single German family enterprise... From Wikipedia's Theo Albrecht entry: "Theo Albrecht owns and was the CEO of the Aldi Nord discount supermarket chain. In the US he owns the Trader Joe's specialty grocery store chain. His brother Karl Albrecht owns the Aldi Süd discount supermarket chain. The two chains originally were a single family enterprise until a friendly division of assets in 1960. Aldi Süd operates the Aldi groceries in the United States. So Aldi and Trader Joe's, while owned by the brothers, have separate and distinct ownership and operations."

Just went shopping yesterday to look for all of the stuff you showed us in the store vid. 😃 Haven't tried the burgers yet but the cheese is great! Couldn't find the dogs or the chicken stuff. 😔I've had the bars before and I like the peanut ones. They just seem a little expensive, especially for Aldi. Picked up a bunch of hummus that I haven't tried yet but, hey, it's hummus. I don't expect they could do too much to foul it up. Got some of the chocolate almond milk - had tried the vanilla before - and, while I prefer Silk, I don't mind buying this when I need it in a pinch, like I did yesterday. It's definitely cheaper... So, thanks for the videos! I don't shop at Aldi often, mainly because they're not open at night 😕, but I may have to start going there more! Love your channel! And Craig's! 👍😊👍😊 Also love the vids with your family! Ah, dammit... I forgot to grab avocados.😭 P.S. Target about knocked me out with all the vegan stuff they have. They've got things the other stores around here don't carry. I almost start dancing when I go in there. 😊

Yet there are things you can get at other Aldi's you can't get here. Like England, their Aldi's are like three times the size of ours. 😝 Besides it may not be all bad. The reason we get so much stuff is because our food is barely regulated. Which means we get added chemicals that are forbidden in many countries because they are so toxic. People buy it anyways, so they keep selling it. Meanwhile we lead in the cancer, heart disease and obesity of all countries. You sure you want this stuff? I for one rarely buy it. I mostly stick to whole foods. Better for you.
@PantheraLEO786 жыл бұрын
das stimmt. käse ist eigentlich das einzige was ich vermisse... n-yeast bringt zwar ein wenig den geschmack, aber was geschmolzenes wäre schon besser. das einzige was es bei mir gibt sind simply scheiben, aber kein pasta/pizzakäse :(

I always find I really have to up the cooking time with those type of veggie burgers that don't contain soy protein like the kale one (and maybe the quinoa? I'm guessing it's similar to Dr. Praegers kale burger) or they are too soft in the middle. Or they do really well in the air fryer flipping halfway. I can't have most of this stuff because I react to soy but I'm really excited to try that cheese if it's as good as Violife!

The meatballs are fantastic. I am obsessed with the regular and the Italian. So good. My husband, daughter and her boyfriend all love them. Every time I get them to eat a vegan food I feel like it is a huge win for my animal friends.🐄🐷🦈🐥

Just had the chickenless patty and Asian burger and they were both very good. Cannot beat $3.69 for 4 burgers per box. I baked them as per the recommended instructions. They do firm up after cooking if you let them sit for a few minutes after pulling from the oven. Thanks for the video

In the Netherlands ALDI has no preprepared vegan foods, but it has plenty of vegetables and fruit choices :-) I would never eat an imitation of meat anyway.

Aldi has been in the US for 40 years, they are just now expanding to the west coast and as most bloggers are from the west, it is getting more attention now
