Shoutouts to the KZbin algorithm that recognizes this as a video on a game called "The Curse of Ra" from 1990...gave me the weirdest throwback, cuz I think I know this from when my mom played this when I was a child. So this archetype is kind of the epitome of this argument "in modern YGO the graveyard is your second hand". Just that in this deck the grave kinda becomes your primary "hand" and the cont. spell is a 4x ROTA that also empties your actual hand. Maybe not meta shifting, but could be fun to see what weird shit you can pull off with this.

Send any number of monsters from your hand or field to grave and destroy that many cards on the field. All the grave setup you could ever want, and it clears the field in the process. Then you can just summon the rest from the grave for a quick and easy OTK.

Idea for a deck, this + Sringans. Springsns already play well with level/rank 8's while having plenty of effects that work from grave. Using Imsety as a 1 card combo to set up 2 the zombie vampire into F0 while loading the grave for springan plays. Mightn't have a super high ceiling but should be very consistent and set up 1-2 negates with a few pops and good amout of recovery available

One thing I noticed (and something I'm grateful for) is that they suffer from a glaring Achilles Heel, and that's relying entirely on the Sarcophagus. Literally everything revolves around that spell card, and if you can get rid of it with things like MST or Galaxy Cyclone, they really can't do jack. It's so much better than Tears which were just flat out unstoppable no matter what you do. The opponent has a clear objective to reach in order to win, which is very much appreciated for anything that ISN'T Horus. Also there's something deeply ironic how this deck gets shut down HARD by Necrovalley.

The reliance on the continuous spell is probably something future support will solve lmao. I imagine we're getting horus himself and iris as cards to fill out the attributes, and I can see horus being a rank 8 that counts as sarcophagus on the field. Konami likes to make busted decks now and then and this is definitely one of them.

Non-quick removal probably doesn't work as well as you think. Using Galaxy Cyclone to remove the Sarcophagus is going to trigger all their effects, including being able to recycle the Sarc, draw more cards, prevent their monsters from getting targeted. Even things like MST or Cosmic would have this problem when you go 2nd with them.

The first one is basically a danger. The rest are bricks. I don't know how good the deckll be, but I don't think you play more than one of the last 3 horuses Edit, I don't think you play aegis at all. I think this could work as an engine. You play 3 imseti, 3 sarcophagus and 1 each of two others. If you draw imseti, the engine basically discards 4 cards from hand and ends on giantrainer draw 4. If you draw sarc, you discard 3 cards and play sarc to get giantrainer draw 3. It could work as an alternative to popperup.

I don't think that's right, mostly because, iirc, it is specifically based on the Medieval French form of the word "épitomé". That last "é" is specifically in line with how the Y in "beauty" is pronounced. If it is pronounced differently in english, it is just yet another case where english decides to just ignore anything and make the pronunciation more confusing. For example, The Celtics, which you would expect to be "Kelticks", is pronounced "sell-ticks" in America, and I hate it. Versailles (Vair-sei) is "vur-sayles", and a bunch of other stupid shit.

I liked to use the different 'pronunciations' to distinguish between the two meanings and I thought OP was insinuating that, reaffirming my assumption. Personally I have never heard the other meaning in practice and felt that saying 'eh-pit-ohmee' for the other meaning was off. I must've mistaken it with 'epigraph'. I guess I should've doubled checked. However I do feel the need to argue with your stance on english there. I absolutely agree that English is messy and it is somewhat a disgrace butchering the words from their origins, but I feel you your examples here aren't the strongest. I feel like the Versayle pronunciation is definitely not the fault of the language since 1. I've never heard it used ever and 2. So having made it to the end of the video gotta say it's a pretty strong architype. That said it loses to exactly dd crow, d shift, or di-fi. Play this with runic though and watch the sarc go brrr though. Fairly consistent access to a turn 1 4 boss monster endboard aint half bad though. Unfortunately the tear meta means most decks will have answers for this right now.

Like yeah you can summon Rank 8s but you're pretty incentivized to sit on your main deck monsters. On the flip side looks funny in a Runick build tho.
