The Struggle Meals fans chose 5 ingredients for Frankie to make a dish out of on KZbin Live! Frankie won't know what any of them are until they are revealed in his very own kitchen. He better think fast, because one of the items will be tricky...

This was a fantastic platform for the struggle meals show, the connection that it gave the view with frankie and his vibrant fun loving personality was perfect for his show. The challenge idea was amazing, it put frankie to the test and showed viewers that you can think outside the recipe book, flavour and create your own meal. Im so glad he made himself available for viewer questions while cooking, it gave frankie the opportunity to get more of his knowledge out there and also let people get to know the real frankie. Look forward to seeing more of this and hope the best for the struggle show and team.

I have watched so many cooking shows, I can’t even count. “Struggle meals” are so fun and so interesting. I always learn something, I love his substitutions, his use of cheaper ingredients, and his variety. I love how he tells how and why to use the different ingredients. Also, he’s very funny! Keep it up please.

We usually don't eat the spongy white stuff inside the bittermelon. We scoop it out, then cut the bittermelon, scrub it with rough salt to remove the bitterness. Rinse it, then cook it with garlic, hot chili peppers, and salted fish

Leave out the seeds and the white part of the bittermelon. Use only the green part. That is the way we, Indonesian, eat it We usually boil it or saute it with other ingredients.

Frankie...You are my cooking "Spirit Animal" 😁 You bring such life and knowledge to the cooking basics, and for saving the budget AND food waste!! I grew up watching a lot of great Chefs on PBS, and also on Food Network, and I would liken you to a modern Alton Brown. You have the same high energy level and knowledge dispensing persona. I really appreciate your efforts!!

Love this. BUT...I have the same crockpot since 1970...my mother’s. I also have an electric skillet from my grandmother from the 1950s. I wouldn’t trust pressure cooker. I had 3 in three years. Gave up on that one. Love watching this. Passing this on to my college kid for when he moves into his own apartment.

Frankie, Loved this venue. FYI, Bitter Melon is called Foo-Gua in Chinese Cantonese cooking. My father used to make it with onions and Pork and egg whisked in, stir fried in the Wok, served over white rice. We eat it without any adulterations. No sugar, no hoisin sauce, maybe a little soy sauce. As a kid, we hated it. When I got older, I developed a taste for it. You can also make "stuffed Foo-Gua" using ground pork. It's delicious.

Frankie, when you're done over there can you come to my house? I have pasta/sauce, but I've had that the last 2 nights & don't want it again. All that's left is... some bread, 2 eggs (which I am not a fan of anyway) and cheese. Blah! ETA: Well, forget the bread. It's moldy. Pasta it is!

I’ve never understood the idea of washing your hands and using a new cutting board with chicken and veggies etc- if you’re going to cook the veggies anyway, wouldn’t any bugs etc be killed/rendered harmless anyway? I understand that it would be bad to use the board for cutting things that will remain raw, but yeah!?🤷‍♀️🧐
