Absolutely! We have (or at least had) a similar marine "petting" area at a nature center in my hometown of Chula Vista, CA and I wouldn't have imagined eating any of the animals I touched but through my travels and being a lover of seafood in general, I have to admit I've tried more than a few.

True! And we appreciated that this was so well monitored and controlled to make sure the marine animals are safe and protected. Seeing them so up close is really educational and makes you appreciate them on a deeper level :)

Like that omni projector idea for a cob house, sculpt sea like shapes...probably relaxing for an entertainment room. Could not eat seal, too dog like for me 🏞🌅... think blubber is a survival thing for cultures in north. Seal oil for heat and light, part of tradition to moon phases,... getting soot by the oil of their relative, the sun.

Very interesting as always, thanks. The tasting selection looked very nice. Never knew people ate seal, but makes sense if the population needs to be controlled in that area. The museum looked cool, a lot of fun interactive museums in that region.

Hey Shaun! You're right about the museums. We've been so impressed with the quality of the exhibitions and all the technology they use, especially in smaller towns. The taste test was interesting indeed and we felt like we learned a lot. I had no idea basking shark were that big or that they lived in the St. Lawrence. Apparently they're second largest after whale sharks.

Well I wouldn't be the most eager when it comes to such taste testing (lol are you surprised), but for such a wonderful initiative, I'd give it a whirl. Awesome program. As for getting handsy with the marine critters, you guys first, then me 😄WOW the size of that shark! And didn't realize there were ANY sharks that far north! Very cool guys! This video gets another "seal" of approval! 😃

haha yes, it's a great initiative and chance to expand our taste buds! Touching the marine life was really neat! Clearly my favourite was the starfish but the others were neat too (if less friendly at times :P). And yeah the basking shark is enormous! Apparently they're the second biggest shark after whale sharks! I had no idea they lived in the St. Lawrence before visiting Exploramer. Oh and love your punny seal of approval! ;)

A super cool video. That was so crazy for how incredibly big the Basking shark(?, ~sp) is, from what you described & showed for how far you had to walk backward comparatively.. wow.. Now the final question for the video is... Did you get the seafood chowder that you were thinking of & had on your mind while doing your taste-testing at the start of the video? The videos are always fascinating. & informative.

Hey Kevin! haha that's a very good question! I didn't get the chowder this same day BUT made up for it another time. Gotta take advantage of the fresh local seafood when you can! Whelks are delish and chewy- they eat waste from the sea bed so can be a source of illness but I've always been ok
